Tomorrow, Oct 31st or well, today if you live in my part of the world, is my mom's birthday and we will be celebrating as a family the whole day so I won't be able to get on SS, which is why I try to get my looks out now otherwise I'll never catch up with all the challenges. So sorry if I seem in a rush! ;p

Okay, I've heard of this bag, it's the most expensive bag in the world, I think it costs like US$25,000 or something and Marc Jacobs got a lot of criticism when he came out with this limited edition handbag, with fashion critiques calling it ugly and hideous. However, it was also sold out within days of its release, one of it was purchase by none other than Beyonce.

I have to admit the bag is a little weird and looks more like an art project than a US$25,000 handbag, but you gotta hand it to Marc Jacobs, he's a marketing genius. I don't think anyone else can get away with that kind of outrageous campaign - which actually worked!

My look for this challenge is just something casual, relaxed and easy, because if you're carrying a US$25,000 bag, you really need to make sure that all eyes are on your bag. Even Beyonce went all casual when she carried this around ;p

This week's poll is so much fun. It's almost Halloween, so of course my DVD player is busy playing a lot of scary movies (the only way I can celebrate) but scary movies are a little different than Halloween movies... so after a lot of thought, I'd have to say that my favorite Halloween movie is the original Night of The Living Dead.

Night of The Living Dead is a 1968 independent black-and-white zombie movie by director George A. Romero. I think this is definitely one of the best horror classic of all time (not counting Hitchcock's movies, of course) and according to Wikipedia, it was cited by many as being a groundbreaking film, given its release during the Vietnam-era, due to perceived critiques of late-1960s U.S. society; a historian described it as "subversive on many levels". Although it is not the first zombie film, Night of the Living Dead is the progenitor of the contemporary 'zombie apocalypse' sub-genre of horror film, and it influenced the modern pop-culture zombie archetype.

So those of you who love 28 Days Later and other zombie movies, I recommend you go rent this movie on Halloween, I guarantee you'll LOVE it! This is my look inspired by the movie. I'd love to wear this to watch a special Halloween screening of the flick, ah if only...

I am really excited for this picnic at the park. I haven't had a picnic in so long! I decided to come in a feminine, flirty outfit, and I brought my umbrella just in case it rains ;p The wine is my gift for the birthday girl, let's celebrate and knock back a few - you truly deserve to be celebrated all year long!

Thanks for throwing such a fun party, and I hope that our friendships here in SS continue to grow stronger. One day I hope to be able to visit you in Italy, and maybe we'll get to have a picnic for real! ;p

Conversation Among The Ruins by Sylvia Plath

This is one of my favorite poems, there's such a sense of despair, the kind of despair you can only feel when you know that something is unrepairable and yet you still wish you can do something to fix it.

I decided to use the white dress as a symbol of waving the white flag, because when you're at that point in your relationship, sometimes it's better to just give up.
