Ah, London! I've always wanted to go there! I think the only reason why I dated a British guy a few years ago was for a chance to go to London. Plus, his London flat is pretty sweet. ;p
Anyway, there are so many things I love about London, but of course the fashion is in the top of my list. I love how Londoners dress - they have a unique style that is cool, irreverent, quirky and daring. It seems that Londoners really know how to have fun with fashion. So of course I'm excited about this challenge!
This is what I'll wear when we walk down the streets of London. I try not to go overboard with the Union Jack, but I can't help myself... I'm a crazy tourist ;p The look on the left is for daytime, and the right is for nighttime.
Thanks Pootros for taking us to such a fabulous destination! Can't wait to see what place you'll take us next!
Ladies, you all have been so amazing and I truly have enjoyed seeing your looks and reading your definitions of various subjects so far. And from the comments I've gotten from people who have seen the blog, looks like you have inspired others too! So pat yourselves on the back, ladies!
Now on to our next challenge. This week, I want you all to define this emotion, or feeling that I've struggled with in the last few weeks: JOY. I suffer from a condition called Bipolar Disorder (or manic depression, as it was formerly called) and even though it's been manageable in the last few years and the meds and therapy have helped me to live a relatively normal life, every now and then I still experience bouts of depression and lately, I've been struggling with it which caused my writer's block. But slowly with the help of friends, family, my wonderful man and of course all my sisters here in SS (as well as the encouragements of people I meet in the blogosphere) I'm starting to get my "joy" back. It's a process, not there yet but getting there. And while I'm in my journey to joy, how bout helping me by sharing your definition of joy? What do you think that is? Is it a lasting feeling, or is it just temporary? How do we get it? How do we lose it?
Can't wait to read your thoughts on this subject, girls! Have fun!
Another great challenge in this group this week, I love it! Angel_looking_sunshine always knows how to get our creativity going by presenting amazing images every week.
This week's picture is dark and haunting, but there's something in it that speaks hope for me - the lights coming in from the window to me represent better days ahead.
So for my look, I decided to take the colors and style of the picture but add a few bright elements in as a symbol of hope and better days ahead. I really love that Marc Jacobs skirt, so I'm glad I have the chance to use it now!
This is another great challenge, thank you Angel_looking_sunshine!
Oh, this challenge is so fun! As you all know Marc Jacobs is my favorite designer and I love everything about him because well, not only is his designs super fun and fabulous, we also share the same birthday. So he automatically becomes my idol, just like Hugh Hefner ;p
One thing I absolutely love about Marc Jacobs is his ability to not take fashion so seriously. He always has fun with it. It shows in his designs and his ad campaigns. This print campaign in particular is not just beautiful and perfect for fall, it also shows that a Marc Jacobs girl is not afraid to experiment with fashion; mixing prints with plaids and just go a little crazy and wild with it.
So, with that in mind - this is my interpretation of the ad. I have had that plaid dress in my favorites for ages, FINALLY I can use it! I decided to do what Marc is best at: mixing plaid with stripes and prints - and just have fun with fashion.
Oh I love love love this week's challenge. Thanks HarperLeo for picking such a great ad this week!
I had such a huge crush on this man when he first broke into the big time a few years ago. He's just so damn sexy, with that Irish accent and his bad boy rebellious attitude, I just want to throw him on the bed and do some very naughty things... ;p
But, he's changed now. He's now a dedicated father and a serious actor and I applaud him for that. You can't stay a "bad boy" forever, after a certain age, it's just pathetic. However, my look is for me and the old Colin Farrell to go out to a pub in Dublin and drink some Irish whiskey together. Because, let's face it - naughty fantasies need a bad boy in them. ;p
Ah, Colin Farrell. You sexy thing.
Thanks for another great challenge, Step It Up A Notch! Sorry I'm so late with this!
