This is a great feeling. As a woman, we all love this feeling - men may like us feeling sexy more than feeling chic but eeh, who cares about what they want? ;p
I feel chic whenever it rains (like right now, yeay!) because the temperature drops, the humidity eases up a bit and my hair is instantly straight again. Not to mention, the fact that it's not freakin' out and I don't sweat like a pig makes me feel good about myself.
So when I'm feeling chic, I'd put on a fab sweater, my rain boots (mom just bought me a pair from Holland, too cute! I'm so ready for the flood now lol) and get ready to walk around outside enjoying the cool air under my umbrella. And yes, I even went so far as to sing in the rain - a couple of years back. It's surprisingly fun!
This is my feeling chic look. Anything comfortable always makes me feel chic, and now I so want to snuggle up in this look! Remember that Garbage song, "I'm Only Happy When It Rains"? Yes, I can officially say that I'm singing it loud and clear now!
Thanks for another great challenge, Natural Born Styler!
OOooo sooo chic, and I can't wait to participate! I always wear my black patent rain boots because it reminds me of the scene in How to Steal a Million where Audrey Hepburn pulls on her black wellies while she's in her nightie and she looks flipping spectacular!!
Maturity is a tricky thing. Someone once said to me that getting old is a given, but being mature is a decision. You can become old without being mature and you can also be very young and yet very mature.
I think for anyone to be mature, they must first know who they are. And they must have strong values that won't change with time. It all speaks of integrity - a mature person would have integrity. They may be ambitious and open-minded but they know when to draw the line - and prevent themselves from making foolish mistakes that so often precede the fall of many great men and women.
Anyway, why am I so serious all of a sudden? ;p For some reason, when I think of a "mature woman", my mind always goes to pencil skirt, tweed, a glass of red wine and a hardcover book. It's very sophisticated French woman-esque - and so this is the look I'm going with for this challenge. Maturity with a touch of sexy.
Ah, I love the challenges in this group! I never used to love wearing dresses - but over the years I had a complete change of style and now I love wearing dresses. First of all, you look instantly beautiful when you wear a dress, and it takes a lot less planning when styling a dress. And second, it's so good during the fat days when you really don't feel like struggling to fit into your favorite pair of skinny jeans. ;p
This one dress in particular is so beautiful and the color is perfect for any skin tone. The draping is also great to hide unflattering features and plus, it's jersey so it's good to wear even in the kind of hot weather I'm always in.
This is how I'll wear the dress. The headband will make the dress look even prettier, and the sunglasses gives a little funk to an otherwise feminine outfit. If it gets cold - you can always wear a beautiful cardigan over it.
Another great challenge, you are a genius, Vrhino! Thanks for this week's pick!
Ah, London! I've always wanted to go there! I think the only reason why I dated a British guy a few years ago was for a chance to go to London. Plus, his London flat is pretty sweet. ;p
Anyway, there are so many things I love about London, but of course the fashion is in the top of my list. I love how Londoners dress - they have a unique style that is cool, irreverent, quirky and daring. It seems that Londoners really know how to have fun with fashion. So of course I'm excited about this challenge!
This is what I'll wear when we walk down the streets of London. I try not to go overboard with the Union Jack, but I can't help myself... I'm a crazy tourist ;p The look on the left is for daytime, and the right is for nighttime.
Thanks Pootros for taking us to such a fabulous destination! Can't wait to see what place you'll take us next!
Ladies, you all have been so amazing and I truly have enjoyed seeing your looks and reading your definitions of various subjects so far. And from the comments I've gotten from people who have seen the blog, looks like you have inspired others too! So pat yourselves on the back, ladies!
Now on to our next challenge. This week, I want you all to define this emotion, or feeling that I've struggled with in the last few weeks: JOY. I suffer from a condition called Bipolar Disorder (or manic depression, as it was formerly called) and even though it's been manageable in the last few years and the meds and therapy have helped me to live a relatively normal life, every now and then I still experience bouts of depression and lately, I've been struggling with it which caused my writer's block. But slowly with the help of friends, family, my wonderful man and of course all my sisters here in SS (as well as the encouragements of people I meet in the blogosphere) I'm starting to get my "joy" back. It's a process, not there yet but getting there. And while I'm in my journey to joy, how bout helping me by sharing your definition of joy? What do you think that is? Is it a lasting feeling, or is it just temporary? How do we get it? How do we lose it?
Can't wait to read your thoughts on this subject, girls! Have fun!
