Comparable piece sold at $80,000-$100,000 Elements of Pierre Boncompain's work has been held to those of his other artistic countrymen, Matisse and Gauguin. Besides his oil paintings, Boncompain is also regarded for his exquisite large tapestries. For these the artist collaborates with well respected atelier's and weavers in Paris, just as Chagall, Dubuffet, Lege, Miro and many others did. This large tapestry is a truly unique and valuable expression of Boncompain's beautiful marriage between the artist's vision and the skill of the artisan weaver honed for generations. L'Atelier 3 Les Lissiers in Paris, where these tapestries were realized, is greatly respected and known for their low stringer technique which fundamentally differs from that of other workshops. It is said that their most impressive characteristics of the craftsmanship is the relief and the processing of materials. While only 6 of these works were produced, due to the hand nature of the construction, each is an individual. The master weavers at Atelier 3 are careful to point out that the tapestries are unique collaborations between the artists and the craftsman.

Chrysina Prism: Natural artifact Arranged and displayed in a museum quality, anodized aluminum shadow box frame One of Pheromone's most exclusive pieces to date is the result of a year's worth of hunting and collecting in Central America. Accent specimens were brought in from Australia, Tanzania, Indonesia and France, but the focal species are the Costa Rican metallic jewel scarabs. Jeweled scarabs are extremely localized and rarely encountered, and their color mutations even more so. The crimson specimens in the center of the piece are actually aberrant color morphs of the bright gold species that border them. Jewel Scarabs are caught at night, during the new moon in late spring and early summer months. Generators and mercury vapor lamps are hauled deep into the jungle at high altitudes in the hopes of attracting specimens in close proximity. As a result, each rare catch is ardently prized. Each Pheromone piece is designed by artist Christopher Marley to create a singular union of exceptional organic artifact and crisp, elegant aesthetic. Preserved specimens on archival materials are hermetically sealed to ensure many years of enjoyment. Pheromone by Christopher Marley sells real, three dimensional natural artifacts exclusively. Specimens may vary slightly from those shown, but the photographs are representative of the pieces available for purchase. Unless noted otherwise, colors are completely natural and un-retouched. Last gallery price of 25,000 Taking innovative steps to break the rules of art-making, Bell extends the scale and shape of his canvases, emphasizing the tension and balance of his forms. Here he stretches beautiful blues, purples and greens atop a red curved band, used as a rocker. He connects the abstracted shapes to merge as one, as the forms react to the surrounding spaces. Such sculptural canvases reference movement and activating agents of change, along with the restrained beauty he encountered throughout his travels. This piece was created circa 1990.
