This season we rise to our own challenge, to step our beloved best-selling crystal acetate frames up a notch, raising the style stakes without losing the substance. The winning formulametal, fine Italian crystal acetate and superior minerals to achieve the Carl Zeiss qualitywas deconstructed and reassembled to create a stunning minimal crystal clear frame, accented by a tobacco brown Zeiss lens and flanked by gold metal arms and hardware.
Designed for Autumn/Winter 2014 Casa Nostra Collection, America Guaglione is as simple as it is classy. A piece of eyewear characterized by a mysterious anthracite acetate and dark lenses. Applied to one of super's finest silhouettes, America, this model is a flawless and absolutely minimal piece of no-logo eyewear. America Guaglione sports lenses by Zeiss in black.
A mystic vision of dark black acetate is mixed with a precious finishing of ivory detailing and engravings. One of the signature symbols of this year's collections the recurring leaf is stripped off its negative connotation and given new life as a precious and minute decoration on a soft background.
The Occult series emerges from the dark blacksmith's workshop, where black and gold melt in a cryptic vision of magical beliefs. The classic Francis arms have been carved with this intricate pattern drawn from antique rings and pendulums, in a high contrast between black acetate and delicate golden décor. This piece of eyewear results even more enigmatic with the eye symbol, recurring throughout the collection as one of its leitmotifs, placed on the frontal piece of the frame.
The Malocchio series expresses the urge of exploring unknown territories and cultural diversities through a rich and smokey acetate and one of the most antique visual icons the eye. Drawn from the traditional hand of Fatima, it is symbolically used as a sign of protection. This eclectic element is paired with some Super's most original contemporary classics Flat Top, People and Drew and deep blue Carl Zeiss lenses, giving a sophisticated touch to Malocchio's extravaganza.
Cleverly juxtaposing a classic and rich tortoise acetate for the frame, with a slightly over-the-top lava-esque acetate designed exclusively for this collection. A touch of precious character is added with Golden Gianni décors on the temple, blending in a unique palette of soft brown natural colors and golden reflections. Inferno is finished off with classic Carl Zeiss lenses.
Saldatura tips off an entirely new elaboration on the already classic Francis models. The beloved metal and acetate combination is enriched with a heavy machinery process, majestically interpreted in this exciting series. Saldatura is produced in gold and silver versions, paired with matte gold metal Francis arms and black acetate for the Classic silhouette, while Ciccio is perfectly matched with silver arms and a classically elegant shiny black acetate. The Flat Top, on the other hand, comes in a delicate combination of silver and gold on the Francis arms, complemented by the black acetate and dark Carl Zeiss lenses.
A perfect contemporary incarnation of the most classic biker aesthetics. The Fantom series, in Classic, Giaguaro and América silhouette, is a bold and elegant interpretation of a basic rebellious on-the-road look. A matte grey crystal acetate was meticulously chosen for this handsome set of shades and paired with a flashy and powerful silver mirror lens.
Following Warhol's evolution as an artist and creative mind, RETROSUPERFUTURE®'s designers have aimed at reflecting his often complex and elaborate line of thought through a series of conceptual sunglasses that fuse together art and design, form and function, aesthetic inquiry and wearability. Merging the artist's irony with the brand's innovative approach to design, SUPER has reproduced a collage of four different artworks on an elegant silver acetate sheet, reminiscing the old silver gelatin prints used in film photography, and applied them on the inner side of each frame. The front, on the other hand, is rendered in a sleek metallic grey acetate, resulting in an utterly classy version of four timeless SUPER silhouettes: América, Classic, Ciccio and Drew. The collection is topped off with ZEISS ultra black lenses, silver hardware and Andy Warhol's signature engraved on the inside of the frames. Being part of the Visiva series, each silhouette comes with an exclusive matching printed box and custom made packaging.
The 2013/2014 Metropolis collection announces another successful collaboration, this time with the up and coming French artist Claire Duport. Claire has captured in her drawings for this collection, the spirit of the 20s through an intricate, geometric and silky design reminiscent of Parisian decors. The Motiv pattern is a colorful and mystical drawing whose warm tones are perfectly combined with a slightly retrò tortoise acetate, with sharp Carl Zeiss brown lenses.
