430 itemsBED|STÜ began in 1995 in a warehouse in Los Angeles. The character, look and style of the brand's shoes are inspired by the streets of Manhattan's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods. Bedstu shoes and other products are handmade and use chrome-free organically tanned leather. Because the shoes and boots are made from leather that is cut by hand, washed and tumbled until it is soft, and then assembled and sewn by human beings, no shoe or boot made by BED|STÜ is exactly the same. The company says each product is as "unique as a fingerprint."
Some Bedstu products, including oxfords, boots, platforms, and sandals, are organic. BED|STÜ organics don't include chrome and formaldehyde. They use vegetable-tanned leather made in a traditional "old world" process. The company is working toward becoming 100 percent organic. Even non-organic Bedstu shoes and boots are made in a sustainable way and the company uses carbon-neutral, environmentally friendly shipping and manufacturing processes.
