The Citrus Basket (1952) is part of the rerelease of a series of historical products from Alessi's catalogue that were inspired by household objects from Alberto Alessi's childhood and influenced by function. These were created for the Die Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich, Germany, which hosted an exhibition on Alessi in May 2010. The design of this Citrus Basket balances construction and functional elements, as well as aesthetic elements. The 18 thread-like stems that make up the sides are obtained by arching 9 elements (a 1 to 2 ratio). This solution reduces components and assembly operations, and at the same time offers an interesting result with the petals joined to the upper rim with invisible welds. Shown in an exhibition at the Die Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich, Germany. Made in Italy.
