Early in his career, his custom lighting was noticed by Ralph Pucci, who pushed the young designer to keep working with evocative materials. Since then, Weeks has designed award-winning lighting, household products, furniture and custom retail projects for Barneys, Kate Spade, Saks Fifth Avenue, W Hotel and, of course, Design Within Reach. In 2003, he was featured in Cooper-Hewitt's National Design Triennial: Inside Design Now, in which his work was described as "evoking the sensibility of Alexander Calder's mobiles and the organic modernism of Charles and Ray Eames." Weeks designed Lucy the Crocodile (2011) just for us, creating a personable 20"-long form with moveable limbs and a jaw that opens and closes. Lucy is made with sustainably harvested beech wood and elastic "muscles" that allow the solid wood frame to be positioned in numerous poses. For ages 7 through adult. Made in China.
