Based in Copenhagen, the firm was founded by the Belgian-Dane architect Julien De Smedt, whose work won the prestigious Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture when he was only 29 years old. The designer describes his Crushed Bowl (2007) as "composed of equilateral triangles and principles we use for big-scale computer modeling." In other words, it is like one of his large architectural projects but done on a much smaller scale. "Adding human ergonomics and aesthetics to the equation, we have derived a vessel that is carefully crushed for everyday use." Not for use in the microwave or dishwasher. Made in China. DWR Exclusive
