I LOVE this skirt! This is my second review of this skirt. My first review was for the black color in a size XS. I gave the skirt a poor review because I thought that it had a design flaw since the sides of the skirt would not lie flat just below the pockets. When I saw that this skirt was being offered in the turquoise color - I ordered it again - but this time - in a size S. The size S is PERFECT!!! And, the color is BEAUTIFUL!!!I now realize that the size XS didn't fit right - not because of a design flaw - but - because it was too small! This is my new favorite skirt!!! Everything about it is flattering; the pockets round out the hips - and together with the skirt coming in towards the legs just above the knees (on me the size S hits 2" above my knees) - it creates an hourglass look; the scallops on the hem and pockets give it a quality look; and the material is comfortable and has enough stretch to be flattering to the bum.(For reference I am: 35"-26"-35", 5'4", 119lbs.) The turquoise color in this skirt, is an identical match to the Meadow Rue, Grassland Blouse in the "Dark Turquoise."

such a fun skirtthis is such a fun, beautiful skirt. a great play on the classic black pencil skirt, the scallops and cute pockets (that are difficult to see well in the picture, but add so much to the skirt) make this a great addition to the wardrobe. its very soft, stretchy (but does not hug your body too closely like some of the other spandexy skirts), and flattering. the pockets may fit a little weird with a tight top on, but with a flowy blouse its very flattering. recommend.

The reviews about the pockets are rightWhat a cute skirt. I wanted it to work so badly. The fabric and scalloping are lovely. It's just the pockets. They hit at a strange place and pull open, and give the skirt an uneven line. I like the idea of scalloped pockets to add interest, but they should have probably been an embellishment with no function instead of actual pockets.

Design flawI wish this skirt had worked, because, as another reviewer said, there are things about this skirt that I liked. I liked the scalloped hem and pockets. The material felt comfortable and had a nice stretch to it that shows off the bum nicely. I even liked the placement of the pockets ( on me - the pockets gave the illusion of a more hourglass look by rounding out the look of my hips. (This skirt runs tts. I usually wear a size XS and the XS fit. I am 5'4", 119 lbs, 36"-27"- 36"). However, the stretch that flatters the bum, also pulls the pockets open - creating a deep, constant wrinkle on the sides of the skirt (below the pockets), leaving a bumpy curve through the hips. This design flaw is a deal-breaker for me.

Sad to say I'm returning this. There's a lot that's right with this skirt, and I wanted to keep it, but the scalloped pockets are right on the hip and just not flattering in my opinion. I am thin (5'7", 125 lbs, ordered a small) and not overly hippy, but the scalloped pocket flaps are thick and sit right on my hipbones and really break up would have otherwise been a very clean line. It's too bad. Material is great, comfortable and stylish. I've been looking for a black skirt forever so I'm sad to return it.
