For Hourglass Gals!Anthro's Wide-Leg pants are to me, like Anthro's dresses are to others. I've got a dozen I can wear, but I dream of a dozen more I would love to have. When round 1 of the Brighton Wide-Legs appeared, I thought Meh! I can buy dry clean polyester trousers in a rainbow of colors anywhere. A true Wide-Leg has a high waist, is fitted through the hip, widens 1/2 way down the thigh, is made of washable Cotton Twill in summer, wool in winter, has deep cuffs and pockets, and is made awesome by Cartonnier. Nothing against Elevenses. They just don't fit me.Naturally I had to satisfy my curiosity.SIZE: I'm top heavy. A wide leg pant offers balance and is flattering, unlike straight legs. I'm 5'5" tall, 135 lbs, 35-29-36, short legs, long torso. Everything that should be on my hips is in back. I ordered the Shimmered Tweed in Blue size 6 Regular length. I own one pair of size 6 Wide-Leg Elevenses. They don't fit great.FIT: TTS for Anthro brands. These don't fit great either. The waist is too low. I need the high waist to elongate my legs. These pants try to give me hips I don't have. But that space is an empty bubble. In the time it took to take a few photos, these had stretched out and become baggy. I hadn't even sat down. Lining would have prevented stretch.LINING: Q&A What are tweed pants without lining? A screen door that lets the cold blow through. I would break the bank for these if they fit and had all the bells and whistles I've come to expect from Anthro. These are not for me. I'll keep holding out for the real McCoy.SOLUTION: Try a pair of smooth, silky leggings or shape wear to replace the lining. Rough tights won't work. The tweed will stick and make creases as you move, and the pants will climb up your legs. They must be silky and smooth. I'm wearing a pair in the photo. There is one pair of Cotton Wide-Legs. The floral print isn't acceptable for work. Most women have an hourglass shape. These pants are cut to fit them. I can't fault Anthro for designing their clothing to fit the highest percentage of customers.Cartonnier has gone strictly to producing blazers and straight legs. I will miss all those beautiful Wide-Legs that could have been. These are recommended for hourglass. Stars off for lack of lining. The waist band detail is very nice on this version. I would not open the pocket seams. The pockets may stretch out and become baggy.

Love these pantsFinally some nice, unique, but classy dress pants. I ordered a size 4 because they looked like they are a tad slimmer through the upper thigh and hip area. I am glad I did because they fit like my size 2's. I agree with the previous review that the pants are not lined. I am assuming they will stretch a bit with normal wear throughout the day while still looking nice.

Pants are NOT lined.1. I'm 5'5" tall, 138 lbs, and 36D-31-40 and the size 10's fit me perfectly.2. The pants sit at my hipbones and do not gap at the back. The pockets are sewn shut. The legs are very long and wide.3. The fabric is a loose twill weave. Very drapey. But the waistband is a tightly woven solid black fabric.4. The pants are NOT lined. I think this will be a problem, as the fabric is very loosely woven. You can see through them if you hold them up to the light. I think the seams may pull out and the fabric bag out at the knees and butt, because there is no lining to protect the outer fabric. It's a shame, because they are perfect except for this huge flaw in the design.
