Love - Love - Love these boots!!!!I absolutely love these boots!!! So comfy and the distress is perfect! May be a bit much for some but I'm all about distress, so the more there is, the better I like it! The calves are pretty narrow but I like my boots that way. I don't have big calves, but if you did these would not work. Love the laces and the color...everything about them. I would love to have them in black too!!!

Size comparisons for reference!Had these in tan lux on back order and nearly cancelled them as I was going to choose between these and the Backstage taupe suede, had already received the latter and liked them. Glad now I didn't cancel. First impressions straight out of the box, I really didn't like the look of the distressing, which is perhaps less subtle than it appears on screen, but gave them a second chance and got a completely different take on them: they look really good on, and I would have thought if you like them on screen, you will like them on your feet. The tan is a gorgeous warm gold and the distressing (which looks kind of painted on) adds a little edge. I would say they definitely run large. I ordered 9 and 10 to compare, the 9 fits pretty well and the 10 is huge. The 9 may perhaps rub a little so I am getting a 9.5 which was not available when I ordered to compare before settling. For comparison: I have Joe boots 11, Minimal/Perspective 10, Ex Ex 9.5, Backstage 10, and the James was far too small for me in the 10 I tried. I have had issues sometimes with boots being too narrow in the calf, but unlike a previous reviewer I find these a perfectly comfortable fit there. I notice that lady is 'petite' so perhaps a smaller shoe size, with a correspondingly narrower shaft? I think the quality of the leather is fairly good and am glad they are not thicker/stiffer. Very unkeen however on the quite overpowering painty/solvent smell (1star down!). Think it must be from the distressing and am assuming it will fade away with use and airing.

Not a fanIf you have ever had issues with your calves being too big for boots, then these are not for you. You would think with the lace up in the back that you would be able to manage but the mid section is tight so they do this awkward loose near the ankle, tight in the middle, loose up at the top thing. Not cute for the price. And plus one on the leather, quite flimsy. Will be returning these, though they are gorgeous.

the perfect boot.truly.This boot is amazing, fits true to size and fits my slender foot and calves really nicely with enough space for insole and sock…and a skinny pant.I get so many compliments and sendpeople to the FP website to purchase them every time i wear them. they are very comfortable and the only caveat is that the sole does not have much padding so an insole is a brilliant addition if you are on your feet a lot.I am a size 6/36 and the size 6 fits me great.
