MiMuir - Review from Nordstrom
Perfect for my city hall wedding.I wore this dress to my intimate city hall wedding, and I loved it. I wanted to still wear a long, white, wedding dress, but I didn't want to feel overdone. I do think the peplum is a little funky and can look somewhat unflattering in certain pictures, but overall, the dress is much more beautiful in person than it looks online. (In its defense, the peplum definitely hides tummy bulge)."Pearl" is a good description of the color because it's not ivory and not a pure, bright white, but kind of like an enamel/bone/pearl sort of color (definitely closer to white than ivory though). The fabric is stretchy (in a good way) and easy to wear. I felt comfortable all day in this dress. The v-cut is lower than I usually wear, but I actually felt fine (but I have a very small bust). I found the seaming in the mid-section to be very flattering, and exactly the kind of "structural" look that I wanted. It fits nicely around the bum and flares out beautifully at the bottom. I did have to have it shortened several inches, and the seamstress also put in a nice 3-point bustle.Friends who saw pictures said the dress looked "classic" and "old hollywood glam," and my mom described it as "simple but elegant." Looking back, I would say the dress does not have a very high "special" or "bridal" factor, since it is not a very luxe material, and there's no lace or other delicate bridal features; however, it was exactly perfect for me and my venue. The back is disappointingly boring (perhaps you could have a seamstress open it up?), but the shape is awesome.I would definitely recommend this dress to a bride looking for something a little more simple and toned down that still makes her feel glamorous. I also think that due to the material, the dress could be worn again (...because I'm invited to balls and fancy black/white galas all the time....*not*). But truly, if you had some occasion like that, I think you could wear it without looking like you are wearing a wedding dress. One last thing... in my search for the right undergarments, I found that when I wore the equivalent of spanx shorts, the under layer of the dress caught on the underwear material and made the skirt shift (moving the seam from going straight down my bum to off to the side) and, as a result of the shifting, the puffed up zipper formed an unflattering tail shape. I bought a nude thong in a thin material instead and the shifting didn't happen. In terms of a bra, you could wear one underneath, but you can see the bumps of the straps, so I had my seamstress sew in bra cups and went bra-less.
40somethingBride - Review from Nordstrom
Love Love Love!!I bought this dress to wear for my outdoor wedding. I had another dress picked out for months and changed my mind when I saw this dress online two weeks before the ceremony. Nordstrom was great about doing last-minute alterations at my local store, and the dress was stunning. It is true that it runs small, so order a size up. I received so many compliments on how elegant and timeless this dress was for a bride ... it is a nice change from the typical strapless gown. The fabric is beautiful, the neckline is very flattering, and the color photographs very well!
