very nice coatThis coat fits very well around the arms and shoulders (I am a true european size 6 and that's what size I got for this coat) but does seem a little bulky around the waist area. The removable liner is well made and may add to the bulk, but I am thinking I may take it to the tailor to see if it can be taken in a little bit.I like my coats cut very very slim/small, so for other people the cut may be just perfect. It looks very nice now and I may not even have it taken in the waist area.In terms of the quality of the hardware and material:the buttons and buckle are metal and look matte and are not too heavy. The actual material of the coat is not really a heavy, satin-like material that some other trenches are made of. You can tell that it's cotton. I think the Burberry london and prosum lines that are more expensive probably have a thicker material, but that isn't to say this one doesn't look and feel expensive. It holds up very well under rain and snow (worn through both) and is warm enough for the mid 30s. I have thrown this coat around and folded it and left it in a heap and it doesn't wrinkle easily. The lining (of the shell, not the removable quilted liner) is the classic burberry plaid, and the inside of the sleeves too. So if you have shorter arms and want to roll up the sleeves you get a flash of burberry plaid. There are buckles around the sleeves too so it makes it a little more difficult but still possible. There is also the Burberry plaid under the collar of the coat so if you turn your collar up you also get some plaidA very nice coat for a good price. Personally, I would prefer this coat to a wool coat or the quilted ones because you have a coat that can be worn in many seasons and worn on both casual and formal occasions

Too bulky!I was all excited to find the perfect Burberry coat with a liner and removable hood but this one is just so bulky. This style runs small. I am between a 6 and 8 and ended up with a size 10 for this one. This coat is a return.

4 stars because...I rated this 4 stars because the lining isn't that warm. I wore it on a 35 degree weather though so I don't know if it is only meant for semi cold weathers/rain. Also my tolerance for the cold is VERY LOW and everybody is different. While my arms fit well, the coat was a little wide on the waist area. I put the belt on the tightest setting and I started to look puffy just above and below the belt. I am 4'11 so it is more like a long trench coat to me.Comes down to my knees. I do love that the hood is detachable though. The throat latch is pretty handy. No wind gets past that. I got lots of compliments.

great coatI love how versatile this coat can be with the detachable hood and lining. I'm rather petite at 5'1", 98 lbs, 32A, and the size 2 fit me perfectly (even the sleeves, which I usually have to hem for Burberry coats). As I am short, the coat nearly reaches my knees. Unlike some Burberry coats that have very prominent epaulettes that can make you look square, this coat makes your shoulders look narrow as the outer parts of the epaulettes are sewed down. Also, in the picture, the model looks bloated with the lining, but in reality, the coat still looks good even with the lining on (however, I got black so maybe the taupe looks different). The only dissatisfaction I have is the metal hardware (especially on the sleeves), but that's expected from Brit, and at least the metal is really light rather than heavy/clunky. I'm waiting for another Burberry coat to arrive so I can choose between the two, otherwise I definitely would not hesitate to keep this.
