Chukka Bennett boots

Every guy needs a great suede boot, so we made one that's sure to last a lifetime. We started by using the same last that we use for our Kenton bucks to give it a great (read: comfortable) shape. Then we added a Goodyear welt-the same kind our best dress shoes use-to ensure years of wear. Add a richly colored suede upper and a leather lining and, boom, the ultimate chukka boot is born. Why Bennett? It's a nod to James Gordon Bennett, Jr., the dapper gent credited with organizing the first-ever polo match in the U.S., held on May 6, 1876, at Dickel's Riding Academy at 39th Street and Fifth Avenue in New York City.

We know a good thing when we see it. These heavy-duty boots are a trip in a time machine, back to when American heritage-style work boots were built like they would be your last pair. The oil-resistant sole, classic shape and exclusive-to-J.Crew leather body make the Iron Rangers quite possibly the toughest you'll ever own. For the best fit, we recommend ordering a half size smaller than your usual size. Leather upper. USA. Online only.
A throwback to another era, the design of these boots is based on the footgear worn by icemen, the guys who would cut into frozen lakes to store (and deliver) ice blocks. Their boots needed to grip the slick surface and keep their feet warm in the frigid cold-and these boots do all that. They're made with Otter Tail leather (named for its waterproof ability) with a Vibram® lug sole and lined in warm wool. If you're going toe-to-toe with winter's worst (if last year is any indication, you are), these should be your boots of choice. Leather upper. Wool lining. Vibram lug sole. USA. Online only.
