Paula Deen Signature Teakettles 2-qt. Tea Kettle Features: Dimensions: Overall: 9" W Overall Product Weight: 3.2lbs About the Designer Paula Deen Paula Deen's culinary career began in June 1989 out of her kitchen with the Bag Lady, a home-based lunch delivery service in Savannah. The bag lady was extremely successful and soon outgrew her kitchen. On January 8th, 1996 she opened her own restaurant, The Lady & Sons, in downtown Savannah. In 1999, USA today named the Lady & Son's the "International Meal of the Year". In 1997, Deen published her first cook book, The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook. As luck would have it, a major publishing company house picked it up when one of their literary agents walked into the restaurant to escape a rainstorm. Shortly after that, Deen's cookware was appearing on QVC. In the next few years Paula published many more cookbooks. "Paula's Home Cooking" premiered on the TV Food Network on November 16th, 2002. The program features Deen doing what she does best-being herself, teaching people how to bring joy into their kitchens and homes. With Deen it is about teaching viewers to bring out the best in their families and creating happy memories no matter what the budget is. In Fall 2006 Deen launched her second program, "Paula's Party", on the Food Network. She invites guests to participate in her cooking classes. Viewers get an inside look at what makes Deen so special- her clever wit, jovial laugh and sheer genius at making people feel good. Special Offer: 10 Issues of Inc. Alessi 2-qt. Signature Whistle Tea Kettle The 9093 Kettle with Bird Whistle became a household favorite throughout the world from the very beginning 1985. This sole design has sold the greatest number of units in the entire history of Alessi, and, furthermore, it has been cited in numerous design manuals as one of the ''most influential objects of the post-modern style.'' It is considered a forerunner to designs of today that incorporate a very ''playful'' approach. Features: Dimensions: Overall: 9" H x 8.5" W x 8.5" D About the Designer Michael Graves United States1934 - Michael Graves is an influential architect and designer. He studied at Harvard University and taught at Princeton University while designing private houses in the abstract and austere style of orthodox Modernism. However, in the late 1970's he rejected this Modernist expression and began seeking a larger, Post-modernist vocabulary. The hulking masses of the Portland Building and the Humana Building both display his highly personal, Cubist new rendering of such Classical elements as colonnades and loggias. Though sometimes considered somewhat awkward, these and his later buildings, such as the Indianapolis Art Center, have been acclaimed for their ironic interpretation of traditional forms. It is this sensibility that has projected Graves to a star among designers, as can be seen in his many designs for Alessi that clearly depict a "new Americana," such as the best selling 9093 Kettle.
