Good bang for the moneyA light, functional day pack. Tested it on a short but strenous hike on AT with water, extra clothing and an emergency survival pack recommended by the Backpacker Mag. I like the pack's packability and overall comfort.

I love this bag!Best day trip/over night backpack. Very light weight. Distributes weight well. Doesn't weigh you down. Has multiple straps to adjust the fit around waist, chest and shoulders. I've used this pack for 4-8 mile day hikes, over 1 night back country hikes and recently on a trip backpacking across China. I love this bag, definitely worth every penny!

It does the job...if the job's not too big...Upon receiving this pack, my first impression was how small it is (compared to what I was expecting). The buckles are small, as is the webbing, side compression straps, and sternum strap.Ok, so they saved weight on those features, but it does not mean they don't work/function adequately, because they do.If you're thinking this pack will haul the mail for a 3-day approach and 1-day summit you'll be wrong - it's not that macho. But if you're planning a go-light/go fast 2-day/night, point-to-point ridge run, then it'll work.I loaded it with a cook set, stove, tarp (with ground cloth) change of clothing, freeze dried food, and a 2L hydration bag, strapped my sleeping bag and mattress to the outside, and the 20lb package served me well on an out and back, 2-night trip from sea-level to 4000 ft., covering 16 miles round trip (and it poured rain most of day 1).The pack seems a bit short for my torso (I'm 6'2" 210 lbs.), but it was not uncomfortable despite the high-riding hip belt.

spam, ham, eggs & BACON!I needed a real summit bag, instead of the option of cinching down my hauler on a multi-day backpack peaking expedition...and this bag nailed it. First of all, it folded into it's own top pocket, a nice little feature which allowed me to just strap it in on the outside of my hauler. Then, it opens up into a full-service pack for our summit bids. Top opening, it held my emergencysupplies, food, two fleece tops, a hardshell jacket, and a 3 liter water bladder without flinching. The outside rings and clips, which are hidden until needed (another cool idea), allowed me to strap on my helmet, treking poles, and SPOT. It's got two zippered pockets on top, where i put all the stuff i need readily available, like bug spray, sunblock, etc. I also stuffed a winter hat, some gloves, and my topo into the side pockets. When we broke our high camp, it folded easily back into itself, and back onto the hauler it went.Where this bag really got me, was how stable and comfortable it was during some full three point climbing/ridge work. I really didn't know it was there most of the time. I beat it up more than a little, making a few moves on some sharp rock...no rips, no frays, and no problems! The bacon will now be my go-to 3 season summit bag to haul along for backpacking adventures. Again, i played the EB/FA sales, and got this bag for a steal!
