Essie 'Wedding Collection - Like to be Bad' Nail Polish
Wedding season is almost here and love is in the air. Essie's newest collection celebrates brides who are confident and want to have fun with color, yet with a nod to tradition. 'This year, I couldn’t resist doing perfect pastels with a twist to complement our future brides when they walk down the aisle and say ‘I do.’ I created a dusty lilac, a darling green, a soft shimmery white rose and a delicate sparkling pink,' says Essie Weingarten, founder and creative director of Essie cosmetics. 'The collection is incredibly sophisticated and refined, but with a magical touch for the perfect fairytale ending. Fall in love with color... fall in love with love!'

Everyday eleganceSo happy to finally find a replacement for my hard to find OPI pearl nail polish. Essie's pearl is just as fab. Most wonderful is Nordstrom's free shipping & samples! Love you, Nordstroms!

Better than white outI have another Essie white, and it's one of their "sheer" polishes. I bought Blanc and it's 100% better. Blanc is a "cream" polish, and is a clean white. In general, it's important to check out what type of polish it is before purchasing an Essie color. I had no idea they were different, but Nordstrom clearly labels whether they're sheer, cream, shimmer, etc. with the letter behind the color name.

Always a trusted classic lookEssie is a great brand of polish - I have worn for at least 20 years. Their white/nude colors are very reliable and always look good but you must have a great basecoat - word to the wise... deborah Lippman's ridgefiller is the best basecoat. Enjoy!!!

Marshmallow -- my favorite polishI have several Essie polishes and Marshmallow is not only my favorite of the brand, but my favorite of ALL brands. It's halfway between sheer and opaque, and what makes the polish so beautiful is that when layered three or so coats thick, it still has a lightness to it where it still doesn't lose the depth and softness which sets it apart from a true white (like Blanc, also by Essie#. It almost gives the appearance of a gel or acrylic nail, if that description makes more sense.Another fun use which really sets Marshmallow apart from all others is that it can be used layered under and over a glitter polish in what nail bloggers call either a "jelly sandwich" or "glitter sandwich". It mutes the colors somewhat, so metallic become pastels and darker/bright colors are softened. I have a glitter polish which is jam-packed full of every color of gorgeous metallics that I was sorely disappointed with when it came time to actually wear it. But when I covered it with Marshmallow, it became more reminiscent of that great confetti "dot cake". Truly lovely.Essie is a great brand, and I really think all polish collectors need a bottle of Marshmallow. Just be mindful to check the color's description -- #C#, #Sh#, #S#, etc. -- so you can be sure what type of color you're getting. Essie's "Good to Go" topcoat is also the best rapid-dry topcoat out there, and the one I've had the best luck preventing chips with.

Baby's BreathLike it's name, it's a creamy ivory color, a bit on the powdery white end. It's hard to apply it evenly, and takes long time to dry. Not the best comparing to other Essie nail polish.
