Five Ten took the best of its original Maltese and tweaked it into what may very well be the perfect lightweight all-mountain shoe. Not only does the Maltese Falcon LT Clipless give you the option of running clipless or flats, but it also has a stiff-but-sensitive shank that provides all the pedaling benefits of a stiff-soled XC shoe and all the pedal-feel benefits of a dedicated DH shoe. There are a few basic ingredients that make the Maltese Falcon so good. The first is Five Ten's sticky Stealth S1 Rubber outsole. Stealth rubber gives you tons of grip so your feet stay firmly planted on the pedals. This soft rubber compound also provides grip when you're off the bike scrambling up a sketchy section. The next ingredient is the stiff-but-sensitive shank that provides a solid pedaling platform, without taking away from pedal feel or the natural flex of the shoe. The third is densely padded collar and heel counter that keep your heel firmly locked into the shoe and provide impact protection during the inevitable digger. A dual hook-and-loop closure builds from the original Falcon's single strap system, ensuring the ideal closure for dialing in the perfect fit. The final ingredient is the burly, abrasion-resistant synthetic leather upper that holds up to season-after-season of riding. The Five Ten Maltese Falcon LT Clipless Shoes are available in whole and half US sizes 6. 0 to 13. 0 and in the color Mono Grey/red.
Built with a grippy sole, a tough leather upper, and a full high-top profile, the Five Ten Line King Shoe does much more than just cover your foot. It keeps everything from your pedal to your shin in perfect order while you slay big, gnarly lines from the top of the mountain to the lift jockey at the bottom and everywhere in between. Five Ten's Stealth Rubber was developed for rock climbing shoes. It has excellent grip, which keeps it stuck to your pedals. It's also super durable. It had to be tough for climbing shoes to suffer the wear and tear from hard granite cliffs for days on end. The Freerider Shoes may just have a tougher job. They have to endure the prodding from the metal spikes on your pedals all day, but Stealth Rubber can take it. Five Ten Stealth Rubber soles will outlast the gum rubber sole on a conventional skate shoe every time and stick better to your pedals all the while. The Freerider Shoe has all the style that you want and the bomber sole that you need to land big tricks without blowing your pedals. The grey panels on the upper are made of brushed nubuck leather. The toe box is reinforced to alleviate major stubbage if you lose it in mid-air. The Five Ten Line King Shoe is available in Andy Lewis Taupe, Navy/Light Grey/Grass Green, and Blue/Charcoal/Black and comes in half sizes from 4 - 13. Definite improvement over the old Freerider. Sole is a bit stiffer which makes long days on the pedals nice. Also toe cap seems more protective than previous model. I run DMR vault pedals and the connection is incredible. Almost feel clipped in. The only drawback IMO is the bald spot in the tread pattern makes walking in winter conditions very dangerous.

Great shoe overall. However, I really need a 12.5 and half sizes are not offered after a 12. Please offer half sizes for larger feet!

I already loved Five Ten but this shoe turned it into an obsession. The VXI line is all ill ever use for mountain biking from now on!They look great, feel great, and most importantly, stick to my pedals like glue. What else do I really need?

These are great! I have tried other flat pedals shoes 5.10, Teva LINKS, etc., and these are exactly what I am looking for in flat pedal shoes for all mountain riding. The sole is very stiff, almost like a clipless and grip is phenomenal. I have switched to flat pedals/shoes a couple of years ago due to knee issues but always missed the connected feeling clipless had - but no more. They do run a little wide, which is perfect for me since I am a EE. The only thing I would like is maybe Velcro strap to secure the laces, but that is more of a personal preference. These are not comfortable shoes for walking since they are stiff but they are great for what they are designed for. The smooth sole is also a great innovation.

Awesome mountain bike shoe. Lighter than the old Freeriders, just as durable. Stealth sole is super tacky - feels like you're clipped in on flat pedals. Definitely my new favorite shoe, on and off the bike.
