These are the best shoes that I have ever purchased. Amazing construction, very durable, and very walkable. I use these with spd cleats. The recessed cleat barely makes contact with the ground so there has been virtually no wear to the cleat. My only complaint is that these shoes do not breath very well. They are hot shoes in the summer time.

These shoes are heavy duty. They should last me at least 10 years if strictly for mountain biking. They feel heavy compared to other biking or walking shoes. I wanted these for the cool style, for SPD uses, and mostly for the slightly wider width. It is impossible to find wide biking shoes since most brands are made for girly-man feet. I am 185 pounds with an athletic build. My feet are not skinny, nor are they fat. These shoes barely give me that extra space I need without being too wide. Similar to wearing skate shoes. (I wear DCs and wide size New Balance. Screw Nike, Specialized, Shimano, & Pearl Izumi.) The length size is exact while wearing biking socks (not tube socks). Like many have said, these shoes are stiff out of the box but will loosen up with time.

Good solid shoe, does it's job well. Stiffness means it is tougher for walking, but better for biking. Looks well enough to wear all day at work if business casual is allowed. One issue, cleats need to be tightened very tight in order to stop them from moving around when you ride - something I have not experienced with 2 previous pairs of street/bike shoes. Also, cleats are barely recessed - your hear metal quite often when you're walking outside. Good shoe though. Would recommend it.

These shoes are really comfy. They are big and I notice that they hit the ground when I corner hard (I've got big feet - size 14). Walking around in the shoe is a pleasure and it's easy to forget that they cycling shoes. You will need to grease your cleat for the first ride or else you will have a problem releasing. This problem will stop once the shoe gets worn down on the SPD cutouts.
Greg K - Review from Zappos
I consider myself a novice MTB'er and bought these shoes because my vans just werent giving me enough protection. I read other reviews that were very positive on the grip these shoes provide and I agree 100%. Super grip to my platform pedals. I must admit I was a little leary of the shoes when I first put them on as they felt very bulky and heavy and the sole has a bit of a fulcrum that teeters when youre walking in them. As much as I dont like these shoes for just walking around, once I wore them on a ride, I will be hard pressed to use anything other than these shoes for riding. Everything that I felt negative towards these shoes all changed when I used them for what they are designed for, riding! Super grip, excellent thoroughness throughout and an overall perfect MTB shoe if you use platform pedals. Run slightly large but for me the extra room is welcomed when Mtn biking.
