Best bootI loved and wanted this boot regardless of the fact that i knew my calf size was larger then what the boot circumfrance stated. My calf is a 16 3.4.. but i knew that in a couple of days it would give and it did. When i first tried them on they wouldnt go pass my calf then after wearing them in the house they gave but then i realized i should have tried them with socks. I put the socks on and then in two days they stretched and fit my calf nicely.i always order a half size up, which was plenty of room to wear with socks and be comfy. I love this boot and thats why i took 4 days to decide if it was worth all the stretching and it was. Dont plan on buy another black boot for some years. These are great; they feel and smell fantastic!!!! First pair of Frye boots and i'm not disappointed; worth all the money that i spent on them.

Durable Wardrobe StapleI got these boots about six months ago, and I couldn't imagine getting by without them now! This was my first pair of Frye boots, and I love these so much that I have bought two other pairs of Fryes since. The leather is exquisite. It's durable but soft at the same time. The depth and richness of the color is so beautiful. I've always babied my other riding boots (also a good brand, but not nearly as good as this!), taking great pains to avoid scuffing those or wearing them in rain or show. I don't need to baby these Frye boots--I wear them in snow and they get beat up, and if it shows at all, it just adds to the character of the leather.Perhaps my favorite thing about these is how WARM they keep my legs! If there's a biting winter wind, I can't feel it on my legs at all when I have these boots on. You still have to wear warm socks to keep your feet warm, but your legs won't catch any hint of a cold wind with these boots on.I am 5'9" with thin-to-average calves. I find that these do scrunch a little at the ankles. They just barely reach over the top of my kneecap, so they're probably more like "true" over-the-knee boots on gals with shorter legs than me.

Best riding boots ever! These FRYE Women's Shirley Over-the-Knee Boots are the most classy, fun, and comfortable boots I have ever owned. They fit like a glove. I love my fatigue boots; I would consider purchasing black, brown, and/or dark brown.

Frye Quality Always Worth the MoneyFrye has been making high quality handmade boots since the Civil War and it shows in every detail of design, materials and craftsmanship. These over the knee boots have a thick, supple leather that easily pulls on and will fit even calves that are slightly larger than normal. The flat heel makes these great for comfort and walking and they look great with skirts and dresses too - a tough find in a flat heeled shoe or boot.Sizing tends to run pretty true to standard with error leaning toward slightly large - in other words, you can often order a half size down in Frye boots. I have several pairs of Frye's from hiking boots to these over the knees and everything in between and I adore all of them. Truly an investment worth making and will last decades if properly cared for. Highly recommended brand and boot.

love my frye boots!I first ordered the frye boots in "fatigue" and they were worth every penny. I am 5'7 and they go just above my knee. The leather is lovely and they are so comfortable. They are versatile and can be worn up or rolled below the knee. I loved them so much I ordered them in black too! They look great with jeans and leggings, dresses and tights. Worth every penny! Shipping was great too!
