Jane Iredale 'Eye Gloss Silk' Liquid Eye Shadow
There's a reason these are called 'silks!' That's the way they go on, and that's the way they look on the lid. Smooth and luxurious, they won't crease or smear and will stay on until you take them off.

Long-lasting, sheer to opaque coverageI tried this eye shadow on a whim about a year ago and found myself coming back for more. It's very different than any shadow I've ever tried, but in a good way.The tube has a tiny felt brush in the cap, so you can apply it directly to the lids with that brush. or, you can put some on your hand or finertip and use your own brush. I just apply the product right to the lids and then blend with my ring finger. I think you get the best results this way, because of the texture of the product, which is creamy but almost has a mousse-like consistency. The colors are all flattering, even if they look intimidating in the tubes. They are all wearable and look flattering. A little goes a long way, particularly with the darker colors, but if you use a very small amount, you get a really nice wash of color. You can just keep layering the product up, it never cakes or gets gloopy.Even without eye primer, this stays true all day and doesn't crease. I really mean that. It's almost kind of shocking. I don't have oily lids, but my makeup still will crease normally, even when using crease-resistant formulas. This is the only product I've tried that stays this true for so long.I have sensitive eyes and for me, this works without any irritation.Tip: Try getting a couple of contrasting colors and layering them over each other. Also, this can be used as a base for powder colors or even another brand of liquid or creme liner/shadow.

champagne colorLike the champagne color. And it is free from harmful chemicals!!The color on the computer monitor looks far different than the Nordstrom's or even the JI site. If you log onto JI and look at the video demonstration of eye silk, the model is using the champagne color and the color appears true to life. It is a light, creamy color with subtle shimmer, and not dusky at all as it appears on the two websites.Best to use a brush to apply. It is a little difficult to control straight from the doe foot applicator. The brown silk I did not care for and will be returning. It is more on the copper side where I prefer a sable brown.

WonderfulThis is a terrific eye shadow although the color wasn't quite what I was looking for. Would love to see this in more colors and will definitely try those out if more colors are provided

Awesome for sensitive, aging skinI have extremely sensitive skin, prone to allergic reactions to a number of chemicals, common ingredients, including "natural" ones that are in many products labelled for "sensitive skin". Since discovering the Jane Iredale line, I have never had any problems with any of her products. I love her make-up, including these silky eye shadows. They go on easily, are not heavy feeling, and work well on aging skin. Some items seem a little pricey--but you will find they go a long way and actually end up being a great value. Try these--you won't be disappointed!
