After the birth of her son, she began a freelance career in visual merchandising and graphic design before taking up painting full-time. Her work pays homage to nature; mountains, moons, clouds, rain, and bubbles are recurring motifs, speaking to the relationship between the ephemeral and the eternal. Painting quickly and in many layers, Colletta waters down her paints, embracing drips, smears, and other happy accidents to reflect nature's unpredictability.
