NorthwestNelle - Review from Lands' End
Such a pretty style, but may I recommend some changesI ordered several fit-and-flare style dresses from Lands End this year, because they look so good on the models, and so easy to wear. I want to love them, I really do. I do love the fabric, just the right weight of knit, with a lovely drape to it. But when I put it on, the style does me no favors whatsoever. I'm an XL usually, and a bit tall. The dress is a bit too short to start with, for most women over 40. And the big bodice will only fit the truly busty woman. The gathering that looks so pretty in the photos just adds pounds to a normal woman. I got out the seam ripper and basically deconstructed a dress to fix it. I took out the extra gathers across the bodice and took the bodice in a bit. I took out the gathers at the front and back waist. I lined the waist band to keep it smoother. The result is smooth and sleek instead of bunchy and thick, and looks quite nice on me. Now if I could only find the time to do the rest of the dresses. The gathered style may work on very slim women and small sizes, or on women with very small waists, but to anyone who is less hour-glass shaped, it needs to be changed for larger sizes.

Pretty dress! This dress runs a bit large. Order one size down. The print is so pretty. I loved the fit. The skirt twirls effortlessly.

I agree with the above reviewerThis is a lovely dress, and I wanted to keep it. It would be a wonderful dress for teaching or for a day of meetings. But the XS was too big through the torso, and I am not even unusually slim: I am 5'8" and 135 pounds, pear-shaped, with a fairly small waist and a small chest. I wear an S or an M in most company's dresses, but I find that Land's End's XS is consistently big, at least in its (so tempting!) fit and flare styles. Given that Land's End sizing is so generous, it would be wonderful if they would consider adding an XXS regular size. I would buy this dress in every color if it came in an XXS regular.

Pretty dress but more sizes neededThis is a very beautiful dress. The cutting is flattering and the floral print is pretty. Unfortunately I had to return it as it was too loose on me. I am 5'6" 112lbs and bought a XS in regular size. Why does Land's end make XXS for the petite size but not the regular?
