not so over-sized......at least on me. I was hoping this jacket would actually be over-sized as described, but this isn't usually the case since I am a Large, size 12-14, with a 38DD bust. I wish there were an XL option for this, so it could be roomier. I think what the online bust measurements quote for a small are in error. It is, though, well-made, high-quality, and warm, and looks amazing, at least worn open. I can just barely button it while wearing two not very thick layers, so I cannot really layer sweaters under it comfortably with the lining in it. It does have a double-zipper, so I can either have the zipper open more at top and bottom, or just button a couple of buttons in the middle and not use the zipper, and it looks pretty good that way. I am 5'6" and it hits just above the knee on me, which I like. I think this would work best for gals that are not hourglass and curvy (like me). The color is true in the online photo. It's pricey because Nicholas K. is a high-end designer company. All this being said, maybe it's silly, but I am going to keep this coat because the quality is there and it will look good (open) over dresses and maxi skirts, which I wear a lot, and I am in the process of losing weight. The hood is nice and roomy, pockets are roomy, and it has a nice casual rugged look. I am rating it as being 'a little tight' because it is described as oversized and really is more true to size instead. Rating it as excellent 5 stars though, because it is high-quality and well-made, and, while pricey, I won't detract stars from it for being expensive (it is a designer piece).
