Stella Eau de Parfum by Stella McCartney features notes of English Rose, sparkling Mandarin essence and a base of woody amber. Stella McCartney launched her first fragrance, Stella, in 2003. As with ready-to-wear, her approach to fragrance plays with contrasts and contradictions, fusing femininity with sharpness, vintage with modern, extrovert with delicate. The inspiration is visual, deriving from a simple yet sensual moment in time such as a rose in decadent full bloom just before it begins to wilt. The faceted fragrance flacon, framing a seemingly infinite plum degrade is reminiscent of an amethyst crystal and was designed by McCartney herself. Stella Eau de Parfum is based around notes of Rose - a much-loved scent from the designer's childhood - complemented by a gentle touch of sparkling Mandarin essence and a base of woody Amber. "I wanted a smell that reflected my English side, something very traditional," commented McCartney.
