This work comes from the artist's "À la Plage, À la Piscine" series. Shot from doorless helicopters, this series takes an aerial look at beach and pool scenes around the world, from France to Brazil. From a carefully calibrated distance, "people and objects become patterns creating repetition, shape, and form. These photographs are a visual celebration of color, light, shape--and summer bliss," in Gray Malin's own words.A Dallas native, Gray Malin hunts the globe for the unusual beauty captured in his photographs. He often plays with perspective through height, helicoptering over the beaches of Brazil or Kauai and sending balloons above the mystical plains of Joshua Tree National Park. Malin first broke onto the scene in West Hollywood, CA, at a Sunday market where his prints caught the interest of gallery owners, interior designers, and stylish Angelenos. Gray's work has been displayed in the Dallas Museum of Art and has been published around the world in publications such as the London "Observer."
