Good choice in Audio MonitorsPurchased for having Granddaughter at Grandmas. Spare bed where she sleep is on the floor below me. I want to hear her if she cried etc... the sensor for sound can be adjusted, but you can hear when she turns over that is how crisp the sound is. I have not had any interference with appliances, and the range is great, as I have been able to go get the mail and not have a problem hearing her. I Highly recommend this audio monitor.

NO Sound While Camera Is In Multi-ViewI received this item on a Thursday and returned it the next day.The only reason I purchased this camera was because it came with a multi-view screen. Since we recently had an infant I wanted to view my toddler as well as my infant at the same time. Little did I know that you are unable to hear any sound while the camera is in multi view!!! Also, the only way I was able to hear my child was to turn the sensitivity level all the way to 5 - in return that produced a lot of static. I will not recommend this product to a friend.

Great choiceVery happy with this monitor. I have an audio monitor that I used for the first two years but wanted a video monitor for the playroom in our new home. Tested it out before we move and have used it every night! The reason for four stars instead of five is simply because the parent unit does not hold its charge for an entire night, so the monitor (not the child) woke me up beeping at 5:30 AM the first night I used it. Easy fix - I just keep it plugged in next to my bed all night but can move around anywhere with it before I go to bed. I tried another brand's video monitor before this one and was disappointed with the quality and especially with the customer service from that company. REALLY happy I went with the Vtech.

Best I've TriedI think this is a wonderful monitor. There are 2 things I would change if possible, but overall this is the best audio monitor I've used - and I've tried 6 different models. 1. This monitor is sound-activated. It only transmits when a sound louder than the ambient background noise is picked up. You can change the sensitivity level, and the highest sensitivity level is very sensitive, but I would still love the option to just have an open channel. I'd like to be able to hear my little one breathing (the old monitor this Vtech replaced allowed that). 2. Every time you hit a button, the unit beeps. Even when changing the volume level. I would prefer the option to turn off the key beeps. I like to change the volume or sensitivity in the middle of the night to just check in on the baby, and the beeping of the buttons could wake your parter/spouse if they are a light sleeper. Other than these 2 minor wants, this is a great audio monitor. It is the only one of the 6 models I tried that did not have any interference/buzz/hum/static in our house. Our old monitor started losing it's signal constantly and buzzing when we got a new wireless router. We got this Vtech to replace it. We just had a second child, and I was concerned that getting a second Vtech monitor would be a problem - the monitor links automatically and you can't change channels at will. I worried that the two units would cross-link or interfere with each other - no such problems. The two parent units connect to the correct baby units without any issues or interference. We just put name stickers on each of the parent units to tell them apart. And they worked this perfectly right out of the box. I also love the talkback feature. If I am busy with the baby and my toddler wakes up & calls for me, I can use the talkback feature to tell him I'll be there in a minute or to tell him he can come find me in the living room. That is great for slightly older kids.

Perfect!!I held off on buying a monitor because we were so broke, and I didnt think we needed it in our small house. Boy was I wrong! We hit the jackpot with this set up. I love that I can control the sensitivity; my boy sleeps with white noise, and if that were streaming through the device I would surely lose my mind! It has terrific range and no delay between the sound being made and transmitting. It sounds like a baby crying in stereo in the house sometimes (yeah, not great to listen to but great product performance). I did find myself bumping the talk button at 1st when i wore it on my pant pocket, but once you know it's there it's easy to avoid. Speaking of that, it's wonderful that it's cordless when you need it.
