I think of an icon as an image used to symbolize an idea. I see Andy Warhol's Marilyn image as an icon of celebrity and fame, which links icons to people and people to fashion. Fashionable icons can be stars or celebrities which are very commonly seen in media. I think it's interesting to think about the power, influence, and influx of icons in modern society.
