Hello,
Being a minority and a member of the fairer sex I have come to realize that so much of what people expect and how they interact with you is based on what they perceive. Being misunderstood can be stifling. As such, it is important to try and present the most accurate version of yourself to the world. That is what style means to me.

I am currently traveling, so I am limited in what I can wear. This site is a great place to express that part of me that is, at the moment, neglected.

I am the child of Rwandese immigrants with a home base of California. These two cultures have had a strong influence on my preferences. My aesthetic can also be seen in works by Gustav Klimt and Anslem Kiefer. I feel fashion should always be fun, practical, and relevant. As such I would describe my style as modern, whimsical, and comfortable. I hope you enjoy what I throw together.

I live in Bakersfield California. It is in the central valley. I'm sorry this is so late, after recovering I had about a million things to do.
Newbarbiedoll this was a great idea. Better late than never right?

Good:
1. Living in the center of the state means we are about 2 hours away from every major city and national park.
2. The cost of living is great compared to other parts of the state
3. With a population of 350,000 people it is the 9th largest city in CA and the 51st largest in the U.S. This means it has many amenities offered in a metropolitan area, but it still maintains its quaint small town feel.

Bad:
1. We have some of the worst air in the state.
2. The summers are scorchers regularly reaching temperatures over 100 degrees fahrenheit.
3. We aren't the most progressive place. In fact we are famously conservative. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but sometimes this conservative attitude is expressed in a racist, homophobic, and an anti science fashion.

Sorry I have been gone lovely SS brothers and sisters. I have the plague! I have had a sky high fever. To add to my grief my computer was in Chicago while I was in CA. I'll try to get back on here after Coachella. Trust me when I say I've missed you all.

Today I'm psyched to see Mumford & Sons, Erykah Badu, Gogol Bordello, and Elbow. Since it is a lighter day for me I might catch a few DJ's. The tank comes from Forever 21- $4.50. The shorts are Forever 21- $10.50.
