Okay, we take it back, Katherine Heigl doesn't always do the retro thing. Sometimes? She dresses like a seventh-grader. So cute! It's always cute when a super-hot woman doesn't dress like she's super-hot. She dresses like she's normal, which is so refreshing for Hollywood.

There's something disarmingly and refreshingly retro and conservative about the way Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl dresses -- I mean, where did she even GET brown suede boots and a a conservative satchel this season, much less a medium-brown adobe-tinted leather blazer?? Still, we love her. Her style is understated and sweet -- and, like she said on the Barbara Walters special, she's surprisingly normal.

Who knew that a nude and black neutral look could be so drop-dead gorgeous on the red carpet? Here's Heigl at the Hollywood premiere of her film, "Knocked Up," looking just amazing.

The trick to finding the perfect fleshtone dress is searching for a neutral that complements your own skintone. Most women will do well with a pink-undertoned hue. Be wary of the yellow-undertones, because they can make you look sallow.

Bold combinations of red, black and white are usually off limits if you want to look approachable, but Heigl manages to pull it off with a sweet smile and going light on the makeup. Maybe part of the trick is to pick a gently tailored and belted jacket and pair it with a pretty black and white pattern and round-toe satin shoes. Loves it.
