There is a new trend in town – boho-tec and it is far cooler than its boho cousin. Inspired by the futuristic hippie looks on the Balenciaga runaway, boho-tec is part hippie, part street style with a little folklore thrown in. A few ways to get the look - * Add leather – leather jackets, motorcycle boots and a wide leather belt to your breezy boho dresses. *Think contrast – wear the sweet dress with studded platform shoes, combine leather with lace, pair black and bright colors, etc. *Add folkloric touches – like fringed scarves, cuffs and bracelets.

Wall Street Journal and New York Times ran stories today on the high price of designer luxury goods. In The Journal’s story The Psychology of the $14,000 Handbag, writer Christina Binkley reports on how luxury brands alter shopper’s price perceptions of their value. The New York Time reports that the high price of goods is actually the allure. After reading both of these articles I had an epiphany: I have no price threshold for designer shoes. If I love them, I buy them. I remember having a conversation about shoes with a friend when we were in our twenties. We both agreed $150 was the limit. Enter Chanel, Louboutin, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Sigerson Morrison, etc. and well, my how times have changed. Here are my picks for fall.

Cuffs bracelets were strong for spring and summer and all signs indicate they will stay popular through fall. Designers Erickson Beamon, Lee Angel and Marc Jacobs all have cuffs for the fall season in new shades, new finishes and new sizes. It appears this look will carry through to spring 2008, as cuffs were heavy on display on Chanel’s resort runway. The real change is in how you wear them – for fall wear them over your slim fitted black t-necks and sweaters.
