This contest comes at a perfect time: my husband and I are about to close on our first house, so I have been obsessed with furnishing our new place.
The color scheme is red, white and black. I am going for a clean, modern look that is both young and sophisticated
The round couch and coffee table is contrasted by squared-off accent tables and chairs. A variety of textures, fabrics, and graphic prints in the throw pillows keeps things interesting.
Red silk curtains bring a little more warmth into the room, while red, black, and white tabletop items tie everything together.
This look represents the classic gangster look, modernized and feminized.
First, a classic black pencil skirt and a structured RED camisole to show off those dangerous curves. The shine from the camisole offers a nice contrast to the matte black skirt. The blazer gives the outfit a no-nonsense vibe. Should it get cold, the flared trench coat adds sexy mystery - I like it in black, but the white would work as well.
Shoes: I could not narrow it down to one pair. The Luca Valentini shows are a feminine twist on a very masculine wing-tip. They exude both power and sexuality. Then again, the Martinez Valero are more feminine, a little less intimidating, but no less powerful.
Accessories: My favorite is the fedora, the signature accessory of noir. The black clutch is simple, understated, with clean lines that compliment the outfit. The cocktail rings are ostentatious, while the diamond earrings and pearl necklace (extra-long so it can be wrapped around) are classic. Don't forget the sultry matte red lips!
