A sophisticated lady, discovering a new, summer exhibit at her favorite museum, inspired this look. The shoes are sharp but look like they’d be great for walking/standing around in, plus I love them with the ankle length jeans. The scarf adds some extra warmth to the outfit (literally) in case the museum temps dip too low and the notebook and pencil are there in case you want to sketch a piece or take a note.

The executive woman exudes confidence, intelligence and dynamism, as does her wardrobe. For me, a few key elements to dressing for success include: a tailored suit that accentuates the form without over exposing it; modest but unique accessories and make-up that empowers you and reveals your natural beauty. I imagine this ensemble on a busy professional NYC lady, emerging from a chauffeured sedan on Madison Ave, on her way to some place where her work will inevitably result in a greater good.

As I get ready to return to DC I can't help but think about all the wonderful things our nation's capital has to offer, for example a night at the Kennedy Center. First meet up with friends for some champagne on the terrace overlooking the Potomac and take in the beautiful view of Georgetown’s waterfront, then enjoy some fine arts, then a fine meal at any number of incredible restaurants in the area. This outfit is inspired by that kind of night – bubbly, captivating and irresistible.

My favorite trend this spring/summer is sparkle. I pulled this outfit together by navigating towards sophisticated and feminine pieces. The silk halter underneath the vest reminded me of a tuxedo but ultra modern and girly--perfect for cocktails and (I imagine) live music at a Swank club. The black, cropped 7 jeans are form fitting and will work nice underneath the more flowing vest, plus they show off the cute ankle boot. The accessories are bold but don't compete with the sparkle.
There are so many ways you could wear Lim’s vest – this is just one.
