My shop style experience, as done by janethedoe. It all started one boring spring morning, sometime in late February. I am a information junkie, I love to know whats going on in every aspect because I get bored easily. I find healthy outlets, at night I listen to the BBC world service religiously and in the morning all I listen to is NPR. I read every new article that comes out…let me clarify, every new article that interests me. Im current in just about every thing. I dabble in just about everything as well, I read, I write, I design, I sing, I act, I swim, I kung fu, I protest, I fight for my rights, I socialize. I am. When something intrigues me I love to find out more about it, I delve into it and become an expert. But I found my self intrigued in something I hated…I always hated those entertainment shows…the ET and the Extras, instead of being star struck watching celebrities on t.v. I would much rather be outside at night looking at my favorite constellations. I rather be watching one of my favorite shows on PBS like NOVA, or like my all time favorite and only reality t.v. show I watch, Amazing Race. I also enjoy Heroes. But that one day in late February, I bumped into a celebrity blog…ive visited them before but I really didn’t care much…but all the sudden in my boredom I became obsessed with celebrity gossip blogs. I was sick to my stomach, I would put NPR on the PC and at the same time read blog after celebrity gossip blog. I would go to all of the links that lead to other blogs…every morning with my cup of coffee ( I was suppose to be paying attention to my school work mind you.) I would be doing this until mid March and then one day on the Sugar celebrity blog (not one of the best but they have good pics) I saw a box with designer names on it. I said to myself, “steph you need a new pair of sunglasses.” So I naturally clicked the Christian Dior link and it took me to Shopstyle.

At first I was like “WTF! What is this? I could buy things and create ensembles of my own!!!! how cool is this!” and so I started looking for designers I wish I could wear and my first “look” I used a grey Nina Ricci organza dress, beautiful and soft. I gave it a title and looked for more gorgeous clothes and I made more and more “looks.” I didn’t get comments for awhile but I didn’t even know that I could get them so I didn’t care. I just made them for me and then out of now where this really cool person aka Barbiedoll commented on a look…she was the first to do so and I was like…hey someone likes it!!! and I was excited and it felt nice to have someone like something you created. Then ONC and gurellia_girl commented and then I made friends. And I started commenting back, and all the sudden I think I invited myself to Wellputs and Binkys slumber party and I met everyone and the donkey. And then I started talking to Binky and I was so amazed at how much in common we shared and then I started talking to Queenofthehw and I felt like ive known her before in some other life as my hippie sister. And then I made more and more friends my Spanish speaking lovelys, that I enjoy so much commenting and reading in Spanish with, bsgirl y luv mis bellas fashionistas. My kindred spirit Lively aka Predestignation & rockrepublicjim..Jim, my only guy friend on SS who I adore playing with. Girls add him as a friend!!! Everytime I login I have so much fun and get so much out of it. We all had so much fun with the SS Rock Band , ( WE NEED TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER TOUR ), Party after Party and the Sisterhood pant thing. I love all of you, you are all so special to me and have enriched my life with beauty and strength, laughs and smiles. And that has been my shop style experience thus far, I look forward to many more good times.
