I'm a college student who loves clothes and making outfits! When I was a kid, I just loved playing dress-up, and... let's just say that carried on into my adult life. I also like injecting a healthy dose of imagination and fantasy into my wardrobe.
Getting to knooow yooou, getting to know aaalll abooouut yooou...
When I am wiiith yoou, getting to know what tooo saaaay...
Okay, I'll shut up now. :P
Finally, I'm getting to this challenge! I decided to do this sweet, feminine and delightfully retro look -- just right for a ladies' brunch. I think this particular challenge is a wonderful idea -- it sounds like a fun way to include all the awesome ladies (and gents) of Shopstyle. As for who I would invite -- it would definitely be Binky, HarperLeo, Beautifulnoise, and pnklmnade. I would absolutely love to get to know you guys better!
Hope you like it! :)
P.S. I'm pretty sure I got the cardigan from shoppergurl, the dress from HarperLeo and the books from Binky, but the rest I just don't know.
After weeks of lurking and admiring, I have finally caved in and joined this group. And it's about time, too -- I love historical fashion, and now at last there's a group totally devoted to it! I especially love eighteenth-century fashion, and especially Marie-Antoinette's style. Say what you will about the woman's excesses, but there's just a certain something about her. So I created this delicate, feminine look in honor of her style! It's soft and romantic, but also quite glamourous -- just like Marie Antoinette herself.
Since this pump reminded me a little of a parrot's bright plumage, I decided to convey that idea in my look. Bright, bold colors are all the rage this season, and these shoes are no exception! Sophisticated, elegant and a little whimsical, this look is somewhat retro-inspired, yet still manages to feel fresh in its color scheme.
I know I don't often do looks for this group, but this week's pair were just so cool that I couldn't resist! I loved the bold pop of orange so much, I just had to play around with it. I wanted to bring out the color by pairing it with accessories of the same hue, while also toning it down with more muted colors. Eventually, I came up with this slightly retro look for daytime. It has a little bit of a '60s Mod look, yet feels very "now" in its colorblocking sensibility. Bold, sophisticated and chic, this would be quite fun for a shopping trip or the office!
