Saint Laurent Women's Belts

Yves Saint Laurent, one of the most prominent fashion designers of the 20th century wanted women to look both fashionable and comfortable. A Saint Laurent belt is the perfect way to comfortably add new style and sophistication to an old outfit.

The rose leather Saint Laurent belt can add pizazz to an unextraordinary dress forgotten in the back of the closet. Crafted of black Moroder glazed leather, it is reminiscent of the edgy romanticism seen in the brand's Fall 2017 collection. Flaunt the Yves Saint Laurent logo on the deconstructed buckle corset belt in black and gold leather lamé designed to flatter the wearer.

Famous French designer Laurent was born in Oran, French Algeria in 1936. Growing up with two younger sisters in a villa by the Mediterranean, he liked to create intricate paper dolls. In his early teens, he turned to designing dresses for his mother and sisters. In 1953, he submitted sketches to contest for young fashion designers and won first place. At the awards ceremony held in Paris, Saint Laurent met other influentials in the fashion world including Michel de Brunhoff, then the editor-in-chief of the French edition of Vogue magazine. De Brunhoff suggested that he become a fashion designer. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, he moved to Paris to attend the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. The young Saint Laurent's designs got noticed quickly. He was introduced to designer Christian Dior who became a fashion mentor to him. Season after season, Dior accepted Saint Laurent's sketches. As fate would have it, Dior passed away from a massive heart attack at age 52 leaving Saint Laurent in charge of the House of Dior.

Yves Saint Laurent designed collection after collection becoming a Paris jet-setter and relaxing with his life and business partner Pierre Bergé at their home in Morocco. He passed away in 2008 at his Paris residence. Own a piece of fashion history with a Saint Laurent Belt.
