Paul Golbert founded Pajar in Montreal in 1963. Golbert was born into a family of shoemakers in Paris. He formed the name Pajar by using the first two letters of his name, his son's name (Jaques), and his wife's name (Rachel). Manufacturing in Canada, Asia, and Europe, the company produces over 900,000 boots every year. The company is highly successful, distributing products to over 40 countries. Golbert's success is a result of hard work importing Spanish, French, and Italian footwear to Canada. He was first employed by the Tyrol company. When Tyrol's owner passed away, Golbert took key employees and started his own factory, producing his Canadian footwear in 1973. The Pajar boot company skyrocketed when it became the official provider for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team in 1989. His original creations include the popular Zig-Zag, an après-ski leisure boot lined with sheepskin. They are guaranteed to keep feet warm in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. The company produces other outerwear such as foldable rainboots, winter coats, socks, and more to keep feet comfortable and dry in the most extreme weather on the planet.
