Repeat with distilled water only to ensure no residual soap remains. The leather should then be allowed to dry completely. Dooney & Bourke’s Suede Bags have been treated for general water repellency. However, when exposed to water for any sustained period of time, some absorption will occur. In this instance a dry cloth should be used to blot excess liquid, then the item should be allowed to finish drying naturally. Once dry, a suede brush should be used to gently lift the nap. Simple surface dirt may be removed from the Suede Bags with the use of a suede brush applied in short even strokes, (alternating direction occasionally) with minimal pressure. Some grime that remains following the aforementioned treatment may be removed or lessened with the use of a soft white eraser used in a gentle circular motion, followed by the light stroke of a suede brush. No creams, polishes or leather conditioning products should be used on the leather trim and handles.
