American entrepreneurs and skateboard enthusiasts Damon Way and Ken Block founded DC Clothing in 1994 in Carlsbad, California. The company's name was initially Droors Clothing. However, after the brand was purchased and eventually went out of business, the company shortened its moniker and is now known simply as DC Clothing. The American fashion business Quiksilver purchased DC Clothing in 2004 and moved its headquarters from its original location to Huntington Beach, California. Quiksilver maintained the brand's affiliation with skateboarding and even put together a professional team of skateboarders to represent the company in state and national competitions.

While initially known for its extensive line of men and women's shoes, the business now sells D C clothes for both adults and children. The children's line, in particular, offers fun and unique styles not found in the kids' fashion lines of mainstream competitors. The DC Fingers T-shirt is one example of the brand's connection to kids particularly pre-teens and teenagers. Made from 100 percent cotton, this D C clothes t-shirt features a print of two large cartoon-like hands with fingers rounded to make the letters D and C. It comes in a solid black color and has a reinforced neck that resists stretching and tearing.

Another DC clothes favorite for kids who know and love this brand is the O'Neill boys' Hyperfreak S-seam boardshorts for big kids. These swim trunks come in solid black, bright red and black with camo. They are made from a polyester/elastane combo material and a drawcord adjustable waist. The swim trunks also have a 17-inch outseam for comfort while swimming. The thread found in the seams and hems is guaranteed not to rub or cause a rash that can come with wearing other styles of swim trunks. The material is also guaranteed to dry quickly.
