Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed, and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source. The PH 4/3 Metal Pendant was launched in 1966. Its design follows the general three-shade system based on the logarithmic spiral, with the center of the light source positioned at the axis of the spiral. This light is a simplification of the light PH designed in 1929, winning him the highest distinction at the world exhibition in Barcelona at that time. Metal pendants were produced in a number of formats and colors, and the underside of the shade was painted white to provide diffuse light. To achieve warmer lighting, metal pendants were also produced with a gold-coated underside. Metal pendants have been produced in a number of sizes and colors over the years, but the only metal pendant available today is the 4/3. Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system back in 1925-1926. The first lights using the system were designed by PH in cooperation with Louis Poulsen for an exhibition in Paris. This partnership continued up until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free light, direct light where it was most needed, and create soft shadows, using incandescent bulbs as a light source. The light model number does not refer to the top shade diameter as is normally the case for three-shade models. The concentrated light from the light source is filtered through an opalescent diffuser to ensure soft, comfortable light distribution. The softened light creates a pleasant atmosphere within the shade and ensures a gentle lighting effect on the outside, helping to illuminate and define the product's shape when lit. The aim was to create comfortable and atmospheric lighting fixture in both private and public settings. The starting point is a flat sheet of aluminum which is worked into the bell-shaped shade. The shade pattern is cut and pressed to form two interactive layers, through which the light is emitted in a high-precision pattern. The 3 mm thick shade ensures a very solid fixture, suitable for applications ranging from children's rooms to executive areas. Features Designed by Louise Campbell, 2012 Type: Pendant light Concept: The fixture emits a primarily downward illumination The perforated pattern on the shade provides a soft illumination around the fixture Meanwhile, the perforation helps lighten up the surface of the shade in a decorative way, when it is turned on, thereby maintaining the contour of the fixture, whether it is on or off The light source is surrounded by an opal diffuser, which ensures that the fixture is 100% glare-free, and that the fixture is suitable for several types of light sources providing the same light distribution and comfort And finally, the shape of the diffuser allows a beautiful view into the fixture Mounting: Cord type: 3-conductor, 18 AWG white PVC power cord; Canopy: White Finish: White, powder coated. Poul Henningsen developed the PH 5 in 1958, in response to constant changes to the shape and size of incandescent bulbs. At the introduction of the PH 5, Henningsen wrote the following: After 33 years of basically Christian behavior, I have converted to Islam in my relationship to the manufacture of incandescent bulbs. For a generation I have believed that consideration for the consumer and common sense would prevail, but now I have become a fatalist. I have accepted fate, and with Louis Poulsens permission, I have designed a PH fixture which can be used with any kind of light source, including, Christmas lights and 100 W metal-filament bulbs (although a fluorescent tube would be too much to ask in the existing form). The PH 5 was introduced as a classic new product and no one knew at the time that it would eventually become synonymous with the PH brand. Regardless of how the light is installed or the light source used, the PH 5 is and remains completely glare-free. The fixture was christened pH 5 due to the 50 cm diameter of the main shade. Features Designed by Poul Henningsen, 1958 Type: Pendant light Concept: The fixture provides 100% glare-free light Its design is based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs majority of the light downwards The fixture emits both downward and lateral light, thus illuminating itself In the PH 5 Classic, a warmer tone of light is created by the inside red cone and a small blue reflector Finish: White/Pale rose, Dark Grey/Turquoise, Army/Dark Grey or Pale Rose/Green, mat coated Mounting: Canopy: White; Cord type: 3-conductor, 18 AWG white PVC power cord Suitable for high and low mounting Suitable for repetitive installations Materials Shades: Spun aluminum. Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system during 1925/1926. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. His work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. PH 3/21⁄2 Bollard is a member of the three-shade family and is one of 19 versions available today. The PH light model numbers refer to the shade size. Each top shade had a corresponding set of middle and lower shades. In the pure models, such as the 2/2, the top shade has a size of about 20 cm, with corresponding lower shades. PH 3/21⁄2 Bollard consists of an approximately 30 cm top shade, but uses lower shades from the 21⁄2 model. These hybrid models were introduced due to the desire to hang pendants at lower heights. Louis Poulsen PH 3 1/2-3 Pendant Light Louis Poulsen PH 3 1/2-3 Pendant Light More Info Product cell

Marking Poul Henningsen's 120th birthday on 9 September, Louis Poulsen launched the new PH 31⁄2-3 pendant. Based on Poul Henningsen's original drawings from the late 1920s and early 1930s, it features his renowned three-shade system. The pendant has metal shades, available in green, yellow, red and white. The fixture housing is silk mat brown and made of copper. All colors are based on Poul Henningsen's color universe. Like the designer, the fixtures are colorful! As an extra feature, all shades have a white painted rolled edge, accentuating the familiar profile of the three-shade fixture and creating beautiful optical symmetry. The shades are pressed at Louis Poulsen's factory in Vejen, by Louis Poulsen's own staff – a craft only very few are trained in. Although the fixture is over 80 years old, it is both modern and classic at the same time, making it ideally suited to a broad range of interior design environments. It is seen as a charming, rustic, functional and unpretentious fixture. But it is much more. The PH 31⁄2-3 pendant is a piece of Danish lighting design history. It provides functional, decorative light, and gives any interior a boost simply by being there, whether lit or unlit. It is beautiful alone, or grouped with other fixtures. Louis Poulsen Doo-Wop Pendant Louis Poulsen Doo-Wop Pendant More Info Product cell

Originally introduced in the 1950th . It was designed in close cooperation between the Navy Buildings Department and Louis Poulsen. The pendant was used for many years in the buildings of the Navy for many different applications such as canteens and offices. The Navy Pendant, which was the name at that time, was widely used because of the unique lighting properties and utility. Not until the early 1980th the product was taken out of the Louis Poulsen catalogues. In recent years, more and more of the old editions have been sold again through antique stores and auctions. This has caused a demand and Louis Poulsen has been asked to re-launch the products. The new version is very close to the original. However, the colors have been updated to correspond to the colors of the time, while the production methods are the same. The shades are still and spun by hand and completed with the fine rolled edge which gives the shades a special optical volume. The brass variant challenges the craftsman as it is spun from a solid brass plate and appears polished. Features Designed by Louis Poulsen A/S in cooperation with the Navy Buildings Department, 1950 Type: Pendant light Concept: The fixture primarily provides a downward directed soft light by means of the white lacquered inner conical reflector The outer reflector, the main shade, contributes to directing the light up- and downwards, while at the same time spreading the soft diffuse light The inside of the main shade is illuminated through an opening in the inner conical reflector Finish: White, Dark grey, Red, Green, Blue powder coated or Brass Mounting: Canopy: White Cord type: 3-conductor, 18 AWG white PVC power cord Comfortably desk top lighting Great architectural versatility Robust construction Simplistic design The design reflects the lighting emission Materials Shade: Spun aluminum or spun brass. Louis Poulsen Patera Pendant Light Louis Poulsen Patera Pendant Light More Info Product cell

“Patera was born of my fascination with the Fibonacci sequence. You can find the spiral pattern wherever you look in nature – in the seed formation in sunflowers and pine cones, for example – and it has previously inspired Leonardo da Vinci, Johan Sebastian Bach and many other great artists from history,” relates Øivind Slaatto. “Patera is intended to serve as a modern chandelier – a light that unifies the space and makes any room a more human place to spend time in.” The ball-shaped pendant floats like a majestic focal point in the room, spreading light in all directions. At first glance, it seems to be just a white, perforated ball, but closer inspection reveals its detailed design featuring a host of circles, angles and holes. The pleasant light emitted by Patera suits a variety of contexts: everything from dining table settings, halls and entrances, to reception areas and meeting rooms. Patera illuminates people around it in a credible, natural light, without generating inappropriate shadows on their faces. Stylistically, the light is simultaneously simple and refined, which means that it blends seamlessly into most interior design set-ups, modern and classical alike. The entire assembly process is carried out by hand. Patera is light and airy, making it simple to install in a great many settings. Louis Poulsen Snow Floor Lamp Louis Poulsen Snow Floor Lamp More Info Product cell

Snow was designed by Louise Campbell and launched in 2009. Campbell has always been very preoccupied with daylight in her work with lighting. Her intention with Campbell 275, Collage and Snow was therefore to imitate the most genuine light expression we can experience – daylight. As Campbell expresses it: The most obvious contrast between daylight and artificial light is that nature only has one light source, and you never look directly into it. Our perception of light is based on countless natural layers which filter and reflect the light. These observations have been integrated into Snow. With the Campbell and Collage, Louise Campbell has worked with soft, warm light, drawing associations with spring and summer. With Snow, she has attempted to capture the essence of the Scandinavian winter: pure white snow, casting a clear precise light with the help of screen-printed snowflakes and a counterweight shaped similar to a snowball. Campbell portrays the fixture as follows: Snow is a teddy bear for adults! Features Designed by Louise Campbell, 2009 Type: Floor lamp Concept: The fixture emits a general light and direct reading light Both the reading and general lighting help to create a unique soft illumination of the space The shade consists of varying concentrations of white screen-printed snowflakes, which are concentrated or blended together in accordance with the position and luminance of the light source in order to avoid uncomfortable glare Finish: Clear Acrylic with print Mounting: Cord type: White Switch: In-line on/off foot switch provided Floating appearance Decorative functionalism Innovative use of materials Two lights in one: reading light and room light Precisely positioned snowflakes Materials Shades: Vacuum formed acrylic. Louis Poulsen Collage Pendant Lamp Louis Poulsen Collage Pendant Lamp More Info Product cell

The well known Collage light fixture is being released in a new version to celebrate 10 years since its launch. The fixture began attracting attention back in 2005 as soon as Louis Poulsen introduced it onto the world market in cooperation with the designer, Louise Campbell. Ten years on, the Collage light fixture now hangs in homes, institutions, universities, hospitals and numerous restaurants around the world. Collage is being released in a new series of douche colors, and a new matte velour-like finish. These give Collage a completely new identity, and the fascinating shadow patterns formed by the three-layer shade set have an exclusive new and different look. The Collage pendant is available in two sizes: Ø600 mm and Ø450 mm. The pendant's simple expression makes it very versatile above dining tables and meeting tables, or as high general lighting. Collage is available in a flexible version with an E26 fitting, which fits the new LED bulbs. Poul Henningsen designed his first lights back in 1925/1926 for an exhibition in Paris. His work with Louis Poulsen continued right up until his death in 1967.
