Blade + Blue Tan Leather Skinny Suspenders
Blade + Blue Tan Leather Skinny Suspenders

I was recently asked to create small collection of ties and bow ties for a couple's wedding day here in California. The groom's fiancé entrusted him with the task of getting all the ties for his groomsmen. She is a pretty trusting gal, I couldn't let her down! During the process of making those ties and bow ties, we had the idea of pairing the neckwear with leather suspenders - totally old school. I had a feeling it would be cool and I have to admit, I was right! The suspenders turned out so beautifully that I just had to make them available for you guys here on the site. You guys loved the elastic suspenders so much, I can't wait for you to check these out too. The leather suspenders are .75" wide with a leather cross patch in the back which has the Blade + Blue logo embossing. The nickel finger-clasps will provide a sturdy and clean attachment to your trousers or jeans. These suspenders were made in California, just a few miles away from the Blade + Blue studio. The STANDARD size suspenders are 'one fits size most'. The leather straps are adjustable and the elastic components in the back add to their flexibility. However, I do have alternate sizes available: I recommend the TALL size for those over 6'3" or for those over 40" in the waist. I recommend the SMALL Size for people under 5'7" tall. If you have any questions, please send a note to Info@BladeandBlue.com and I will be there to assist you right away.

Blade + Blue Blue, Gray & Black Camo Print Shirt - JOEY
Blade + Blue Blue, Gray & Black Camo Print Shirt - JOEY

I live for making shirts & I am a real fanatic about it. So much detail & care has been put into the making of each Blade + Blue piece. I want this to be your new favorite shirt. What Makes a Blade + Blue Shirt So Special? - MADE IN USA: Blade + Blue shirts are made in limited runs here in the USA. I work with master craftsmen whose family has been making shirts since the 1950's. - TOP OF THE LINE FABRIC: Blade + Blue sources premium Japanese fabrics from some of the finest textile mills in the world. - A GREAT FIT: I set out to create a shirt that was both comfortable & flattering. No more feeling like you are stuffed into a super-skinny fit or feeling frumpy in a big, boxy fit. The Blade + Blue cut was designed to provide room for comfort in key areas like the chest & shoulders but is then slightly nipped at the waist to give you a most flattering shape. You will also notice that the lengths of Blade + Blue shirts are designed to make you to look great tucked in or out. Please take a look at our FIT GUIDE for more specific measurement information. - 'NITTY-GRITTY' GOOD STUFF: Let me share a few more details that make the Blade + Blue extra cool: Collar Shape: Nothing is worse than seeing an otherwise handsome shirt ruined by a big, floppy collar. The wrong collar shape can instantly ruin your look. I have slightly trimmed the height on Blade + Blue collars, then created a semi-spread shape for a very sharp & modern effect. Placket Construction: The slimmer center placket shape of the Blade + Blue shirt is sewn in with a stitch right at the edge of the placket. This technique creates a more streamlined look and eliminates the distracting, 'rumpled' effect that occurs with most other shirts. The Camo Print Shirt: I admit it, I have a thing for camo prints. Last winter, I spent a lot of time in the countryside of Northern California and was really inspired by the joy of unplugging & reconnecting with our beautiful planet. I created this twist on traditional camouflage by applying a blue/grey tint to the colors. This was what it looked like outside my window when the moonlight cast on the trees that surrounded my cabin. 100% cotton, trimmed with charcoal marbled buttons and navy herringbone tape.

Blade + Blue Vintage Gold Tone Waltham Day/Date Watch
Blade + Blue Vintage Gold Tone Waltham Day/Date Watch

I have always had a thing for old watches. There is something about the character of an old watch that just defines "Old School Cool" for me. I&|39;ve just thought it was so much cooler to discover a beautiful old watch than to just walk into a store and buy a new one. There is a strength in knowing how old they are and seeing them faithfully keep perfect time. There is a magic in thinking of the life that this watch had before it came into your hands. And there is a beauty in knowing that some things just never go out of style. When I was growing up, my dad never splurged on anything. His focus was on taking care of us kids. But the one thing that he loved was a great watch. I think I inherited that from him. As Blade + Blue is really a &|39;Thank - You&|39; letter to my father for all that he taught us about being men, I couldn&|39;t be more excited and proud than to share this collection of beautiful found watches with you. I&|39;ve always got my eyes peeled for old Walthams, to me they are the ultimate classic watch. This is a handsome style in a gold tone case with a steel back. The back of the case is marked with the letters XD006. The case measures about 1.25" wide with a clean crystal and day/date keeper. This is a battery operated model. Only 1 available

Blade + Blue Olive & Black Canvas Messenger Bag
Blade + Blue Olive & Black Canvas Messenger Bag

I am grinning like the cheshire cat when getting ready to bring new items to you guys. This messenger is a perfect example of why I get so excited. MADE IN USA: This bag was made BY HAND by an ingenius friend in Texas. DURABLE MATERIALS: The body of this bag is constructed from a heavy, 18 oz. canvas which I have really put to the test. Look at all the products on my site, I am a guy who lugs around a lot of stuff all day! The accent color is a waxed canvas, so it has a softer hand & will spot-clean easily. The strap is made of a leather blend, that is right - leather blend. I have found that real leather straps sometimes stain my shirt and are actually rough on my shoulder when carrying a heavy load. The leather blend looks exactly like leather but is much, much softer and won't bleed color on to your Blade+Blue shirt. There is 10% leather used in the blend, which is all recycled. EFFICIENT DESIGN: I love the pockets! I have so much stuff to haul and if there aren't pockets, I am left to just dig and dig for the key or fabric swatch or receipt or whatever else I need to unearth. Dimensions: 11.5" high x 16" wide, perfect for a laptop 4 Total Pockets: 2 Front External, 1 Reverse Side, 1 Internal Versatile Strap: The soft, leather-blend strap adjusts between 32" & 56" so it can be worn on the shoulder or across the body. TOP HANDLE: You can even carry it like an old school briefcase! COLORS ! : This is one mighty handsome combo of Olive & Black This bag should be spot-cleaned or dry cleaned.

Blade + Blue Khaki Cotton Stretch Twill Shorts

- MADE IN USA: The Blade + Blue shorts are made in limited runs right here in the the Bay Area of California. It is extremely important for me to keep things as close to home as I can. I really enjoy having a personal relationship with the people who help bring my ideas to life. - TOP OF THE LINE FABRIC: It really does all start with fabric, there can be no compromising on quality here. But this year, I upped the ante. I used a sweet, 8 ounce twill with 2% stretch to construct these shorts. That little bit of stretch makes a huge difference, they are so comfortable! - A GREAT FIT: OK, so this took a lot of time & thought! I wanted the shorts to have a streamlined, polished look. But I didn't want you to feel stuffed into them like a sausage either! In order to get the balance right, I dropped the rise a little to give you some extra room (where it counts!). But I trimmed up the leg and cut them off at just over 7" - about an inch up from the knee. Check out how they fit Elbert - poor Elbert, I made him get up really early the day after his birthday celebration for this shoot! Please Note: I intentionally cut these shorts about 2% larger to account for shrink when you home launder them. For me, they fit great on the first try but really look perfect after the first home laundering & drying.

Blade + Blue Red White & Blue Stripe Belt by One Magnificent Beast
Blade + Blue Red White & Blue Stripe Belt by One Magnificent Beast

Sometimes you are just struck by an object's beauty and you can't shake it. Maybe it is a painting or a song or even a person (!) Well, that is how I felt when I came across the belts made by One Magnificent Beast. Based just outside of Boston, One Magnificent Beast is the creative project of Charles Heightchew & Gunner Kleinschmidt, combining their love of architecture, design, and color. Charles and Gunner started making belts for themselves when they simply couldn't find any styles they liked. They wanted something with more 'personality', so they took matters literally into their own hands. (All pieces are made by hand in their studio). They fused their love of vintage textiles & color schemes with their technical training to create something unique & beautiful. I could feel the soul behind the art they created. It was like Blade+Blue had a long lost brother out in Massachusetts. I am honored to share their artistry with you. RED, WHITE & BLUE STRIPE BELT: Handmade by One Magnificent Beast exclusively for Blade+Blue, this belt is made from Japanese herringbone twill & vintage French Ribbon. The belt is ingenuously constructed so that when it is looped through the cast brass rings, the blue herringbone contrasts against the handsome stripe which forms the face. Elbert's outfit which matches this belt with the red short sleeve chambray shirt & the khaki short just kills me. So easy and so handsome! Measures 1.25" tall. Made in USA. Sizing: S = 29"- 32" M = 32"-34" L = 34" - 36" XL 36" - 38"

Blade + Blue Camel Cotton V-Neck Sweater
Blade + Blue Camel Cotton V-Neck Sweater

The Backstory: Well, once I got started with the idea of making polos, I just had to figure out how to make some sweaters too. TYPICAL PETER! But launching new products is a very serious endeavor for a small company like Blade + Blue, so it wasn't going to happen unless it was just right. I was so fortunate to have a chance of working with one of the world's best knit factories, that I just had to do it. I wanted to honor that little dachshund logo while bringing you a product that is impeccably made. It is also wonderful to know that this factory has donated a percentage of the proceeds from Blade + Blue to the schools in their community. Now, THAT is cool. The Blade + Blue V-neck sweater is made of fine gauge 100% cotton and features the little bowtie'd dachshund who reminds me that sometimes the underdog can win. Please note that Blade + Blue sweaters run slightly narrow. If you are 'in between sizes' - I advise you to size up. Made in Peru.

The wrong collar shape can instantly ruin your look. I have slightly trimmed the height on Blade + Blue collars, then created a semi-spread shape for a very sharp & modern effect. Interior Cuff Trim: You guys have told me that your favorite surprise is the navy herringbone tape tucked just inside the sleeve cuffs. Guys are always rolling up their sleeves to be comfortable and this subtle detail allows them to be relaxed but still look polished at the same time. Placket Construction: The slimmer center placket shape of the Blade + Blue shirt is sewn in with a stitch right at the edge of the placket. This technique creates a more streamlined look and eliminates the distracting, 'rumpled' effect that occurs with most other shirts. THE ZACHARY SHIRT: If you have been following Blade + Blue, then you know that I love incorporating traditional Japanese prints in the line. But "The Zachary" wave print shirt feels especially important this season. This season is inspired by my dreams of what life would be like in California and quite literally I couldn't wait to live near the ocean. I think somehow that deep, lasting dream found it's way into my work. 100% cotton, trimmed with white marbled buttons and navy herringbone tape. This bag can be reversed to expose the beautiful waxed cranberry. Please note, the waxed cotton fabric will marble creating a very cool texture that is full of character. I&|39;ve just thought it was so much cooler to discover a beautiful old watch than to just walk into a store and buy a new one. Oh boy, this one kills me. This is a vintage 1972 Timex with a ridiculously good-looking multicolored face. It is painted steely blue & white, but the yellow hands & time markers and the orange second hand really add character to this piece. Even the font used for the time markers is worth a look. I have to mention that this watch runs on automatic movement. This means that it doesn&|39;t run on a battery or even from daily winding. This watch runs on kinetic energy that builds up when being moved. For example, the motion of your arm when you are wearing it helps build up it&|39;s energy supply. It is absolutely old school. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with automatic movements if you are interested in purchasing this watch. What you need to really know is that if the watch remains unused for a while, it needs to build up energy in it&|39;s system in order to properly function. So you may need to wear the watch for about an hour for it to gather the fuel it needs to run. I&|39;ve seen companies making new watches with automatic movement and I&|39;ve also witnessed some frustrated youngsters who aren&|39;t familiar with this type of functionality. I placed a new textured black leather band on him, I think the white stitching catches the white in the face just perfectly. Only 1 available

As Blade + Blue is really a &|39;Thank - You&|39; letter to my father for all that he taught us about being men, I couldn&|39;t be more excited and proud than to share this collection of beautiful found watches with you. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw this stunner in antique shop near San Luis Obisbo, California. But guess what, I actually couldn&|39;t afford it. So I did something I never do, I remained patient. About 3 weeks later, I had to hit L.A. for a fabric show so naturally I made a detour to that shop where my favorite watch was. He was still there. And again I did something I never do, I haggled. I think I begged a little too (!), but there was a big smile on my face when I resumed the drive to L.A. This is an old Clinton diver&|39;s style watch with a magnificent royal blue dial. All of it&|39;s details complement that face; the white time keepers, the red date numerals & second hand and that sweet striped military band. There is also a painted, rotating bezel that lists the names of international cities at the numeral markers. I had the crystal polished up to really pop that handsome face. The case measures roughly 1.5" across and has pretty hefty weight to him. Daily winding required. Only 1 available

Blade + Blue Vintage Red Swiss Army Field Watch with Striped Military Band
Blade + Blue Vintage Red Swiss Army Field Watch with Striped Military Band

I have always had a thing for old watches. There is something about the character of an old watch that just defines "Old School Cool" for me. I&|39;ve just thought it was so much cooler to discover a beautiful old watch than to just walk into a store and buy a new one. There is a strength in knowing how old they are and seeing them faithfully keep perfect time. There is a magic in thinking of the life that this watch had before it came into your hands. I am always looking for watches with bright, colored faces. They are not just my favorites, but I know they are your&|39;s too. This is a very handsome watch by Swiss Army with a bold, red dial and date keeper. This is a battery operated model, no winding needed on this style. The case is marked Swiss Army, Stainless Steel & Water Resistant and measures roughly 1.75" across and is pretty solid at 3/8" tall. There is very minor wear to the outer rim which is consistent with age. OH and don&|39;t worry, I haven&|39;t forgotten about that insane black & aqua striped military band. This is a new band that I applied, unfortunately the original band needed too much work. I think it makes the watch even cooler. Only 1 available

Blade + Blue Blue & Grey Heather Check Shirt - Teddy
Blade + Blue Blue & Grey Heather Check Shirt - Teddy

THE TEDDY SHIRT: I fell in love playing around with this check pattern that I had to make it in a few colors (check out the 'Anderson' and 'Simm' styles too!) This is a combination of aqua blue with grey heather & white - and it is REALLY good looking. 100% cotton, trimmed with white marbled buttons and navy herringbone tape.

Blade + Blue Blue & White Stripe Belt by One Magnificent Beast
Blade + Blue Blue & White Stripe Belt by One Magnificent Beast

BLUE & WHITE STRIPE BELT: Handmade by One Magnificent Beast exclusively for Blade+Blue, this belt is made from Japanese herringbone twill & vintage French Striped Ribbon. The belt is ingenuously constructed so that when it is looped through the cast brass rings, the solid blue herringbone from the reverse side contrasts against the blue/white stripe which forms the face. That vertical blue & white stripe is so cool, I have just never seen a belt like this before! Unique enough to make a statement, but simple enough to be worn with anything. It is pretty incredible to see what happens when people combine their talents. Elsewhere on the site, you may have read that with this season's collection, I wanted to capture the spirit of a group of old paintings that I found on Cape Cod. The men at One Magnificent Beast took that inspiration and crafted it into beautiful works of art of their own. Measures 1.25" tall. Made in USA. Sizing: S = 29"- 32" M = 32"-34" L = 34" - 36" XL 36" - 38"
