For thriving on the most visionary lines on the most intimidating peaks, our Grade VII Down Parka represents years of building, testing and refining among our brain trust of designers and ambassadors. At belays and bivies—any time you stop, or any time you’re moving through absolute zero—the parka keeps your fire burning with its precise, fully baffled construction (laminated on the arms, shoulders and chest) and differentially cut shell and liner, which traps your heat courtesy of 800-fill-power Traceable Down (goose down that can be traced back to birds that were never force-fed, never live-plucked). The design further ensures that the loft stays in place, thus eliminating cold spots, regardless of severity of use, and elasticized stitching on the side panels of the liner hug the jacket into the body. The 100% nylon ripstop shell is more robust in the sides and back, and has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish throughout. The helmet-compatible, baffled hood has a single-pull drawcord and a high-loft draft collar around the neck; the 2-way center-front zipper is backed with draft tubes that kiss together, removing the cold shoulder (or cold zipper). Plenty of pockets keep you sorted when hell freezes over: Double chest pockets and double hand pockets all have down on both sides of the pocket bags to retain warmth when open, and 4 interior catch-all pockets (two on each side) have stretch mesh for draining snow melt (the back-right interior pocket has a hidden stash tube with keeper-loop for retaining the self-fabric stuffsack). The elasticized-stitch cuff openings sit gently on the wrist, locking in heat and allowing the sleeve to be easily pulled down over gloves, or pushed up at brew stops. The hem drawcord routes through the mini snowskirt and is located several inches above the parka’s hem, thus pulling everything inward without draft spots while eliminating any hanging loops that can snag on gear and rocks. Dialed. Regular fit.
It’s early-season in the Hoback, but above tree line, miles of snow-bound terrain awaits. Handwarmer pockets with two-snap closures, interior zippered pocket is media compatible and the zippered chest pocket secures your map and compass. A drawcord at the waist adjusts the fit, and the snapped self-fabric cuff closures seal out drafts and moisture.

Our Down Sweater Vest keeps its focus simple: core warmth. It traps your hard-earned heat with high-loft, 800-fill-power Traceable Down (European goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked) and its minimalist design practically floats—it’s so compact that it stuffs into an internal pocket (with a carabiner clip-in loop). The 100% recycled polyester shell with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish provides wind and weather protection, while quilting lines stabilize the down and accentuate the contoured fit. The drawcord hem tightens from inside the zippered handwarmer pockets, and nylon-bound elastic armholes seal in heat.
For climbers obsessed with shaving grams and streamlining their systems, our M10® Anorak embodies the ethos of single-push perfection—when efficiency matters and actions have consequence, you don’t care if a pullover musses your hair. We took our most minimal alpine shell and honed it even further, with a trim half-zip silhouette that won’t pooch in the belly and ensures you can see every dime edge and verglas smear (thus negating excuse #43: But I couldn’t see my feet!). Its engineered pattern eliminates seams from the shoulders and back panel, reducing points of failure and enhancing the modest stretch of the fabric. The anorak is built with an ultralight, 3-layer, H2No® Performance Standard waterproof/breathable nylon ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Ultrasonic-welded seams are reinforced with narrow seam tape for superlow bulk, and the helmet-compatible hood with laminated visor and single-pull adjustment rolls down and stows with a simplified cord-and-hook design. The exterior left-chest pocket closes with a coated, watertight zipper, and the jacket self-stuffs into its chest pocket (with carabiner clip-in loop). Ultraminimal cuffs seal out weather, and a single-pull drawcord cinches the hem.

You were hoping last night’s storm would freshen up the conditions, but instead you’re greeted with a mix of not-quite boilerplate and a topping of wind scour to keep the day spicy. When you need to make the best of any backcountry situation, forge ahead with the Descensionist Pants. We built these pants for unlimited kinetics in the backcountry’s ever-changing conditions. They’re our most breathable waterproof shells, made of a supersoft, 50-denier plain weave fabric with mechanical stretch to keep you in motion throughout the day; a DWR (durable water repellent) finish protects the fabric from saturation due to sloppy snow or hours of postholing. The soft, moisture-wicking interior glides over underlayers and moves moisture when your body is breathing from the inside out. Articulated patterning throughout the pants combined with the stretch of the fabric allows exceptional mobility for off-balance climbs and descents. Mesh-lined thigh vents with watertight, coated zippers keep air moving freely to reduce heat buildup; internal gaiters provide a tenacious seal even when you’re postholing. At the waist, a soft, self-fabric lining adds all-day skin comfort and repels moisture to keep you dry. The internal belt (and belt loops) hold your pants where you want them, while a two-snap closure, a zip fly and a webbing loop on the rear yoke (connects to the powder skirt on any Patagonia® Snow jacket) complete the waist details. Other features include tough scuff guards, slim zip installation to reduce weight and bulk, two front pockets, two large thigh pockets and an embedded RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector.

The cuffs’ spiral-seam construction won’t constrict your forearms when you push up the sleeves, and the softly lined inner collar and kissing-welt zipper garage go easy on the neck and chin. Along with articulated patterning, the hoody stretches to accommodate your moves and to help trap your heat. A simple, articulated, helmet-compatible hood has internal elastic stitching, a minimal visor and a single-pull drawcord adjustment. You could always heat up a can of chili to stymie the cold, but it’s a whole lot easier to slide into the warmth of this hybrid jacket. It combines modern construction techniques with age-old insulation to create a warm, performance-oriented jacket that’s waterproof, breathable and insulated. We made the shell of the Ukiah Down Hybrid Jacket from a supple 2-layer 100% polyester fabric coated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to fend off moisture and increase durability. Warm, 600-fill-power Recycled Down, reclaimed from duck and goose down products, insulates the jacket’s core, while soft mesh-face fleece throughout the shoulders and arms reduces bulk and allows your arms to move freely. The classic shirt-collar design converts to a stand-up collar with a snap closure to protect your neck and seal in warmth. It has handwarmer pockets that close with zippers and a zippered rear stow pocket that’s ideal for bike commuters. Hip length with a drop-tail hem.
One minute the wind howls and your breath freezes, and a second later the clouds part and the sun shines. A shoulder-season staple, our Ultralight Down Jacket features 800-fill-power Traceable Down (European goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked) and an ultralight nylon ripstop shell fabric that’s nearly half the weight and twice the strength of our other down shell fabrics. The sewn-through construction, tight channel pattern and just the right amount of down increase versatility for use in more moderate temperatures and diverse activities, while a DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds snow. A slim silhouette maximizes thermal efficiency and suits its ideal uses: belay jacket over light layers at shaded crags, minimalist summer alpine bivies and unmatched warmth layered under a shell. Pockets include two zippered handwarmers and one zippered chest. The jacket self-stuffs into the left handwarmer to become a travel pillow, and into the chest pocket for storage, with carabiner clip-in loop. A drawcord hem keeps in the heat.
Fifteen years after we introduced our R1® fabric, it remains a favorite the world over for good reason: it stretches, breathes, wicks and warms with ultimate efficiency, and the full-zip iteration offers added versatility. With its technical fit and durable fabric, it squashes down to practically nothing in your pack.
