The Penguin brand is one of those men’s shoe brands that has been able to retain its popularity over the course of many decades. Penguin men’s shoes actually date backs to the 1950s, where they began to take hold in the United States and have since expanded into South America, Central America, and Europe. Celebrities over the years have embraced this brand as well. At various times during its history, Brad Pitt, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Adam Brody have all been models and endorsers for Penguin men’s shoes. Perhaps this is why so many men from around the world have fallen in love with this style of footwear. They are both comfortable and stylish at the same time. Men can finally get the admiration they have sought from the shoes that they choose to wear.

Interestingly enough, the Penguin brand began in 1955 by Munsingwear. This was an underwater and military uniform manufacturer based in Minneapolis. Shirts were the first to be developed, with Penguin shoes to follow shortly thereafter. The shoes were not originally sold in stores. Instead, they were sold by salesmen who covered the northeast region of the United States. They would continue to expand after that until Penguin men’s shoes were officially purchased by Perry Ellis International back 1996.

Today, you can find Penguin men’s shoes in a variety of high-end department stores including Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Men are able to select from a range of different types of shoes, from sandals and sneakers to boots and lace-up dress shoes. The Original Penguin is a low top canvas shoe whose comfort has been perfected through the years. Gray is an especially popular color for this canvas shoes. There is also a slip-on model dubbed the Adrian loafer that comes in a sand and red or black and red canvas material.
