The Ferragamo sandal collection is an eclectic mix of styles inspired by the company's Florence, Italy roots and the broad footprint the company has established in Europe, Asia, and America. Innovative design and creative use of materials have been a trademark of the company throughout history. The wedge, stiletto, sculpture heels, and the outrageous 14-karat gold sandal are only a few of the company's notable innovations. Salvatore Ferragamo's time spent studying anatomy while in California paid off well.

The irresistible Trento leather Ferragamo sandal is a disco-era flashback featuring a metallic sheen and structured silhouette on a thick platform. Celebrate Italian styling with the Gancio flower-heel Ferragamo sandal in an elegant, high-ankle silhouette and slim, lattice, wraparound leather straps.

Salvatore Ferragamo was born in Bonito Italy in 1898. He was the eleventh of 14 children born into a poor family. As a child, Salvatore made himself a pair of shoes and a pair of high heels for his sister. Young Salvatore had found his calling. He later studied shoemaking in Naples and opened a small store in his parents' home. Salvatore left Italy in 1914 to join his brother who worked in a cowboy boot factory in Boston. After a short tenure at the factory, he convinced all his brothers to move to California. They went from Santa Barbara to Hollywood where fame would be Salvatore's destiny. It was here, after opening a shoe repair and made to measure shop that his styles gained enormous attention from the Hollywood elite. This led to Salvatore's designing career in the cinema, the "Rainbow" platform shoe for Judy Garland, and the stiletto for Marilyn Monroe. Salvatore passed away in 1960. The company remains in the Ferragamo family.

Salvatore was not satisfied by only beautiful shoes for beautiful women. It was at this point when he decided to take the anatomy classes to be able to enhance his designs toward comfort. The classes are no doubt responsible for both the style and comfort of the Ferragamo sandal.
