Hervé Leger is a French fashion house that was founded by Hervé Peugnet. He first studied sculpture and art history at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and then dropped out and became a hairstylist. When Hervé met Karl Lagerfeld in 1981, he encouraged Hervé to pursue fashion design and change his last name to Leger so it could be easier for Americans to pronounce. Hervé is the pioneer of bandage dresses, or also known as body-con dresses, which are made using materials associated with mold. This garment shapes the figure of the person wearing the garment with Leger's signature bandage-like strips. The garments of Leger's designs are knitted not woven, not commonly seen. Some signature dresses of Hervé Leger include the cocktail bandage dress, a body-con and banded dress, with a V-neck and back. Another Hervé Leger dress includes the Iman dress, a mini gold champagne dress with a sweetheart neckline and tapered straps. A longer gown look is the Hervé Leger is the striped lace inset gown. This gown comes with speckled detailing, a lace skirt, and a double-V neckline. Hervé designs have been worn by many famous celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and Victoria Beckham.
On September 1998, the Hervé Leger brand was acquired by BCBG Max Azria Group from the Seagram's group. This was the first time that a French couturier was acquired by an American designer. On April 2007, Max Azria relaunched the Leger summer brand collection under his design direction. This collection was offered at department stores and specialty boutiques. Hervé designs can be found in many international locations. For body fitting clothing garments, the Hervé brand has exactly what you need. They mold into your body shape for the best look. Whatever style of dress you are going for, whether it is classic, sophisticated, or casual, you can find a dress that will fit perfectly.
