Jimmy Choo is a co-founder of Jimmy Choo Ltd, a company known for its cutting-edge handmade shoes. He was born in 1948 in Penang, Malaysia into a family of shoemakers. Learning his trade from his father, he made his first pair of shoes at the age of 11. The young Choo went on to study at Cordwainers Technical College in Hackney, now a part of the London College of Fashion. Working at restaurants and a shoe cleaning business to fund his education, he graduated in 1983.

In 1986, he rented an old hospital building and started a shop where his craftsmanship was soon noticed. His talent and hard work were rewarded with an eight-page layout in a 1988 issue of Vogue magazine. Princess Diana of Wales boosted his image when she became a client. Jimmy Choo Ltd was co-founded in 1996 alongside Tamara Mellon, a British Vogue magazine accessories editor. The ready-to-wear line expanded to sell cutting-edge accessories and handbags. Choo gained fame as a cultural icon by being mentioned in the hit song "Abhi toh Party Shuru Hui Hai" from the movie "Khubsurat" and a hit song by Fetty Wap with his name as the title.

Iconic collections include ultra-high heels in leather, glitter, lace, and suede. Alexis Bledel has been spotted wearing the red sandals with adorable double ankle ties. Nicole Kidman was photographed sporting black stilettos with delicate straps. The designer's love of bling is evident in the Romy 100 Glitter Degrade Point Toe Pumps with leather upper and leather lining and sole. Sexy styling plus surprising comfort are featured in the Black Suede Lucy Heels with tonal buffed leather trim with an adjustable ankle strap and collar. The soles are made of supple beige leather. Jimmy Choo is currently working to establish a shoemaking institute in Malaysia.
