Marni Women's Fashion

The Italian luxury label Marni means quirky, off-beat, and artsy. A theme of bold graphic patterns, fantasy prints, and natural textures such as furs identify the brand of women's fashions. It's a look that can be worn with confidence by a broad age spectrum.

Side seam slits at a reverse high-low hem along with a patchwork of multicolored stripes give the Women's Striped Wool-Blend Sweater the artsy look the brand has become known for. It features rib-knit crewneck, cuffs, and bottom. Stay warm and chic in pink with the Marni Reversible Shearling Coat. The reversible coat is made of fluffy shearling with a smooth nubuck side. It is cut in a long-line collarless shape with a loose fit to wear over sweaters. The Women's Mink-Collar Matelassé Coat pays tribute to the designer's roots in the fur business with this street-length coat in a delightful abstract leaf pattern of harvest orange and white on a Navy background. It features a removable mink-fur spread collar and a lining of crêpe de Chine.

Marni was founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni after she became known for designing furs for her husband's fur business. Rather than designing furs in the traditional way, Consuelo used the fur like any fabric to create wearable clothing. Named for her sister, the fashion line began to grow as Consuelo's customer's looked for something to wear with or under the furs. Consuelo focused her designs on unique prints and vintage-inspired shapes infusing them with techniques like color blocking, juxtapositions of texture, and idiosyncratic shapes like asymmetry, gatherings, and bell hemlines.

Consuelo Castiglioni remained as head designer until 2017 until Francesco Risso, formerly of Prada, took over in 2017. The brand produces ready-to-wear clothing, jewelry, handbags, and eyewear. Their first fragrance, Marni, was introduced in 2013. Today the designer's look has become more streamlined but can still be called "European-inflected bohemianism". Established early-on by Consuelo Castiglioni, it is a look destined to become iconic.
