This is an original lithographic map taken from Rand McNally’s Indexed Atlas of the World, which was published between 1886 and 1899. Rand McNally, established in 1868 in Chicago, is now a household name in atlases, globes, and road maps. The company was formed as a partnership between William Rand and Andrew McNally, and they became the second map publishing company in Chicago, second to George F. Cram’s.
