This traditional English armchair is one of the older items we have in our restoration shop at the moment. This style of chair was widely made in England from the early 1800s on through the century, so it is difficult to date, but based on the wear and color, we think it can't be any later than 1850. Hand-turned, hand-planed and hand-stained, this chair shows its age in all the best ways. Likely made from elm, this kind of chair is very comfortable for relaxing, and is typically found alongside a cosy fireside in a pub.
